Mayweather and Pacquiao haters alike claimed Ortiz was too risky an opponent for both, clearly the best WW fight not featuring the two against each other. Everyone was using the terms young and hungry to describe him for whatever agenda they had. Then when he signed, a lot of people retreated from such claims, then when he lost, everybody said those terms were reasons why the fight was a joke on paper. Ever since, on ESB, being "hungry" means that you suck. |

I agree that Canelo/Trout is the better, more competitive fight. Not trying to slander Guerrero but Floyd's going to pick him apart all night. Rob's got a lot of heart, stamina and determination but hes not got anywhere near the level of speed required to give Floyd any kind of a problem, and I'm not particularly confident he's even got the 1 punch power to score a lucky KO. Still, if the winners fight each other in Sept then I'm happy. Winner of Sept to take on Sergio in May 2014! |

does it matter? i doubt floyd cares, dude is going to get paid. thats all he cares about. as a matter of fact he's probably happy because canelo/trout puts more money in his pocket.

whoever would rather watch mayweather guerrero over trout canelo needs their head examined
infact its better the canelo fight is on the undercard because i can go to bed after the good fight and not have to sit through a borefest that is mayweather guerrero, guerrero does not deserve it, he does not belong there and he is out of his weight class too |

Canelo-Trout will likely be the more competitive match, or the closest in odds. It'll tell us more about Canelo too, although I'm not sold on Trout just yet (think Cotto is well past it so his win over him might be exaggerated). But its an interesting fight and glad to see it made, its a step up for Canelo.

The Canelo fight holds more suspense because there is a real chance that he will lose. He is stepping up from his regular diet of washed up fighters and blown up lightwelters. This is his comming out party. On the other hand, Floyd is expected to do what he does best and thats win. Won't be no empty seats after the Canelo fight.

People buy PPV for the main event. Canelo while popular has never carried a PPV on his own.
Khan is hugely popular he also has never carried a PPV either why do you think that is? Mayweather has proven to be able to sell even with a relatively unknown foe (Ortiz) GBP would never put Canelo vs Trout as the main event. Although it is the better fight - assuming Floyd fights Guerrero but there have been tonnes and tonnes of examples where the under card fight has been better than the main event. Instead of people trying to shit on Floyd you should be thanking him, he insisted on Canelo being on his card, and even signed to fight him in September to ensure it. |
