Default Billy Conn's greatness

Just watched the first Louis fight. Talk about being slick, savvy,
and having the heart and balls do trade with Louis. I would
think a lot of superheavies and elite heavyweights like Foreman,
Tyson, Bowe, and Lewis would beat him, but I see Conn beating
a lot of great heavies. Do you guys favor him over most light
heavies for example Moore, Pastrano, Spinks, Hopkins,
Tunney etc.

Not all of the ones you listed against Louis his best performance ever
I'd say he looses to Moore, Tunney, Hopkins not sure about Spinks and Pastrano though

Former light heavy champ...slick boxer...beat 10 future or former world champions...
...ALMOST beat Joe Louis in June 1941...not bad at all...

I don't think he beats any top HW and I don't think he beats the best LHWs. He had the perfect style and gameplan against Louis and really should have fought more conservatively

Now it's Billy Conn's turn to not be appreciated enough. Just before Billy's magnificent
performance against Joe Louisin 1941, Conn was at his peak and on a roll beating heavyweights such as Gus Lesnevich [2], koing the terrific boxer Bob Pastor [who kod Lem Franklin], Al McCoy, a prime Lee Savold, Kod Gunner Barlund of Finland WHO kod Buddy Baer etc. This Billy Conn of the Louis fight was some helluva fighter tough enough,
fiery and elusive, to give any fighter his weight trouble...Too bad that WW2 took away the prime of the great Pittsburgher, second only to Harry Greb.
And Yes Billy whipped darn good heavyweights as shown aboxe.

It is not going too far to say that he might have been as great as Ezzard Charles if the war had not taken his best years.
