If Floyd Sr will be his trainer, I don't think he'll struggle much against Guerrero. Floyd Sr is a better defensive trainer than Roger.

I believe Floyd/Cotto was competitive, so was Cotto/Trout.

It also seems like people think Floyd last name is Hopkins or something. There's only 1 a those. Floyd is getting old & he only fights once a year. The Ghost has been active & no matter what anyone says, he absolutely out-muscled Berto & ate his shots like skittles. I still believe to this day that Berto has more power than Floyd. I'' be the 1st to say, Floyd isn't walking over him & don't be surprised if you end up feeling after the end of 12 that the Ghost deserved the victory Floyd will get.

I do think this Showtime deal might push the Alvarez fight back a year or two. Mayweather may possibly fight 5 times after Guerrero so he's going to need a number of opponents who are good but probably don't beat him so he can stay undefeated which is a big marketing apsect of Mayweather.

I wouldn't be shocked if Mayweather sticks to 147, where GBP is deep, for awhile while a possible Mayweather-Alvarez is built up and also comes near the end of Mayweather's contract. I think we are more likely to get guys like Khan, Alexander, Malignaggi, etc fighting Mayweather in his next fights instead of Alvarez. Hopefully GBP matches up their top welters for a shot at Mayweather.
Agree with this word for word.

Yup. Throw in Garcia in at 147 to keep Floyd busy. Garcia moves up to fight him at 147 while he retains the title at 140.And Mayweather-Khan would be a sure sell. Mathysse tho, unless he builds a huge fanbase in the next 2-3 yrs, will have a hard time finding a big fight at 140-147. Lucas might be too small for 147, but he's that good. Still, I don't think Floyd will even consider him under any circumstance.

That's because you don't have a clue . It was a rough fight. Cotto took a good beating .

It's not a good sign if he struggles badly with Guerrero. If that happens, he should just call it a career. Guerrero's a far-from-spectacular welterweight - a six of all trades.

I think people are getting hung up on my wording. I just meant it was a tough fight by Mayweather's standards, he still clearly won the fight, but it was his toughest fight since Castillo. Wasn't trying to undermine his win or anything.

Mayweather's undefeated label is the backbone of his marketability. A loss would hurt his income of future fights. I can't see him fancying fighting a big strong light middleweight on the back of a career best win if he struggles with a blown up lightweight/light welterweight in Guerrero.

Try Feather Weight, Junior Light Weight!

You have to choose your words carefully when posting this kind of thread, it lures the pactards like gander into it.
