I'd say Floyd is a small welterweight. pacquiao, who everyone considers a small welter, in his last fight weighed more than Floyd ever has. Mayweather happens to have an elongated build.

I laugh at people saying Martinez is still a 154lber
i laughed when Paul Williams was a 154 and 160 for several years and people were ranking him as a welter and picking him over all these fighters and ranking him as a welter when he hadnt fought there in a few yrs and didnt plan to Martinez wont move down and probably wouldnt comfortably make the weight i could see him maybe bending to the almighty dollar to retire with a big check if Floyd fights Martinez it should be at middle or at a catchweight like Oscar did vs Hopkins |

But the Middleweight division has history, and prestige. Besides he's an Argentine. If he could I bet he'd like to be considered better than the great (greatest in my book) Middleweight Carlos Monzon! I don't think it's possible but I think he thinks it is. In his mind beating Mayweather will be like Monzon beating Nopales.

Yeah Sergio could make that easily. Only a hater would complain about this fight even with the the catchweight

Don't get me wrong though, I do want to see this fight and preferably at 154. I hope I'm wrong about the weight Quote:
yeah I feel you. Tbh, this fight is first on my wishlist. I have a bad feeling about history repeating itself again, but if Sergio offers the fight again to Floyd, he should accept.

SRL says he is, and many others have too.....I will take their word over yours....it is a well known fact Mayweather doesn't drain and probably because he was off for 21 months got his weight wrong for the fight. That doesn't mean he isn't a small WW when clearly he is. Martinez fought at 154lb 4 years ago not 3. Yes he did weigh 157.5lbs and then rehydrated for the fight Floyd weighed in 151lbs for his last fight and lost weight for the actual fight! Even if you take the weigh in weights that is a disparity of 6.5lbs MORE on fight night! |

I don't think the Haye comparison is legit. It's proportional. Weight is gonna mean less and less as you get higher in the weight divisions.
