Default Erdei targets Roy Jones

From f ightnews.com:
WBO light heavyweight champion Zsolt Erdei has commented on his win Saturday over George Blades and his future plans. "The crowd was fantastic," said Erdei. "Therefore, I was worried about losing my head and becoming careless. Blades may have been able to continue in the eleventh round, but for health reasons it would not have been good. In any case, the fight would not have gone twelve rounds. The ring from the WBO is a great honor for me, an acknowledgement of my career. Now I'm ready for a title defense against Roy Jones."

"Now I'm ready for a title defense against Roy Jones" -
finally someone is giving Roy shot at lineal title.
Erdei might wait a little linger however, Jones isn't fully finished yet.

Erdei also said that when he asked Kohl about a fight with Roy, Kohl said that it's impossible to bring him to Europe. Erdei said that if that's the case he will go to the US.

Erdei shouldnt be blamed for the relatively weak oppositon he has fought lately.
He totally depends on his German promoter Kohl and Kohl's matchmaker.
Zsolt is a superstar in his native Hungary-a very likeable human being and a very capable and decent world champ. However,he is no big draw in the important German market, and almost totally unknown over the ocean in the USA.Kohl doesnt seem to be ready to invest big bucks in order to sign big names for Erdei's future fights.
I would love to watch Erdei vs Roy,but this fight will never come off.
I for my part would probably bet my money on the Hungarian.Roy doesnt seem to be able to dethrone him at this point of his career.

Roy Jones is the De La Hoya of the supermiddle/lightheavy, of course everybody dreams to fight him.

Speaking of his indeed weak opposition in 3 out of his last 4 fights:

Did you hear what that dumb ass commentator Ploog had to say during Erdei's fight? He had the nerves to ask why Erdei did not have to fight an EASIER opponent this time after having such a lot of hard fights in a row lately!!!

I couldn't believe what I heard, I almost would have laughed out loud at his bad commentating without knowledge of really tough opponents, had it not been so sad! ZDF ought to replace him immediately.

Glass Jaw Roy Jones would never take this fight, and Erdei is a joke.

If Jones beats Hanshaw he becomes a legitimate defense for any of the champions . A much better defense than Blades or Santiago for Erdei and better than guy Ruiz(who Dawson defended against) and De Lisle(who Woods defended against) .

What about a rematch with Gonzalez, the man he took the title from?

Erdei impressed me once, he beat a good fighter who beat a great fighter.
Since then he has looked pretty average and his level of opposition has gotten progressively worse. Even then he needs soft stoppages to get a KO.

No, not Gonzales. He did nothing to deserve another shot.
And the first fight wasn't close, so I don't think that would make any sense.
