There's a reason why rabbit punches are illegal: They are much more dangerous as they cause more brain trauma.

So my question is, shouldn't this fight be ruled a NC?

Not really. Now he'll probably take on Thompson or something after the Cunningham fight and claim a "win via proxy" much like Floyd fans have been ever since Manny got KO'd by Marquez. Note I actually like Fury, but I agree, he should have taken this fight and the payday. It would have been viewed as a big win for him too (this is a little reminiscent of Ward/Bute not happening, it would have been a big payday and looked nice on Ward's record, but instead Froch got it.)
