The problem for Price is he is to nice. In the ring he doesn't have a mean streak, and outside the ring he is to loyal. He should have ditched Franny Smith as soon as he turned pro and ditched Maloney as soon as he lost his TV deal.

From a training point of view, to prepare your fighter for fighting a 6ft5 250lbs HW by predomonatley sparring a novice Cruiserweight is ridiclous. Price should have been out in Germany sparring like Fury has done, gone out to the USA like Fury. From a physical standpoint, he is top heavy. Thats why he got KO'd on Saturday. His legs couldnt support him once his senses were gone. Im 5,9 and 165lbs and my legs are bigger than Prices. He doesn't have any kind of defence and he walks back onto the ropes far to often.

Regarding promotion/managment. He got rushed because Maloney has nobody else. Price jumped from Domestic to world class, when there are 20-30 Heavyweights inbetween he could have been facing. But Maloney had to fill up the Echo and have him main eventing to the likes of Fres Oquendo, Timut Ibragimov, Monte Barrett won't get 6,000 in the arena.

Price got over confidence from knocking over undermatched opponents. Dallas, McDermott, ***ton, Harrison & Skelton were all good opponents but there needed to be something inbetween those and Tony Thompson who was a legit top 10 Heavyweight. He needed rounds, he needed testing. Because he hadnt been tested when he faced somebody decent they exposed him.

Price also played up to the crowd. There was to much pressure on his shoulders, and he was more interested in please the crowd and getting the KO than using his brain. Price should have jabbed Thompsons face of for 6 rounds and then hit him with the right hand.

And lets be real. That was a grazing punch, trown from an out of shape and unmotivated Tony Thompson that was coming out for one last pay check.

This should be the best thing to happen to him, but it won't because he is to nice and to loyal. He won't ditch his trainer and he win't ditch Maloney!

If I was managing him I would get a new Trainer.

GET A NEW TRAINER
April - Richard Towers
July - Fres Oquendo
SIGN WITH MATCHROOM
September - Travis Walker
December - Timur Ibragimov

March 2013 - Thompson II
Agree totally with what you said at the top, but the schedule you suggest wont develop him at all in all honesty

Get a new trainer 100%

I don't think Towers will benefit Price at all he would most likely end it early like he has been doing with his previous fights and that is not going to allow him to test his improvements in the ring.

Oquendo has power and if Price gets landed on by him then it will all be over in all honesty. Plus Oquendo is another old fighter he needs young pressure fighters who will keep coming

Walker has a pretty poor chin in all honesty and Price would likely finish him early

Ibragimov is totally shot now and he seemed totally past it in the Mitchell fight and I don't think his heart is in it anymore in all honesty

Price needs guys who will help him get the rounds in and teach him things in the ring.

Fights i would give him:
May - Dominick Guinn
September - Oliver McCall
December - Kevin Johnson
March - Tony Thompson 2

I think he needs to come back to British level just to build confidence. Perhaps my list is not perfect, but yours is horrific mate lol.

That will just lead to him neglecting defence again. It is a much better list than yours though

Valid points Jonsey but if he couldn't even beat a thompson in that condition and at that age, i mean its not looking optimistic by any stretch of the imagination. Beating up domestic cans is not going to improve him one bit, yeah might improve his confidence but when he gets hit in the face again, that will fly out the window.

that's where the best heavyweights are

Although a rematch against Thompson in Washington would be a good deal for him. VERY good deal.
Thompson is not a draw. Maybe if Thompson were on an undercard that'd be doable, but he's not a name that fans support by buying tickets.
