Audley is an inspiration, yes he get's badly beat and embarrassed, but they way he manages to always dust himself off and win his next fight is a testament to his character.

if he did, it would be one of the greatest stories in the history of any sport. Very unlikely to happen, and we've been here before with Audley, but if it did happen...

BORKED

He would take the saying "anything's possible" to a whole new level. I would have to cry if Audley became world champion after everything that's happened. Everyone would have to cry. If you didn't cry after that you wouldn't be human.

If he could hold it together for say...two carefully chosen rank improving fights he could get a shot.

Audley should really be an inspiration to us all.
From national hero to failure, but even worse than that, a total laughing stock, a joke. People that know nothing about boxing knew his name because it was so associated with failure and an object of ridicule.
It is almost impossible to comprehend how much character and self belief it must have taken to come back from the first Williams fight, the first Sprott fight, especially the Haye fight and finally the Price fight.
However skilled he is as a boxer, and skilled he is, it is nothing compared to his self belief and strength of character.
I'd love to see him get into some kind of mentoring program, or go and give talks at schools to youngsters. The man is something else, and however this ends for him, I wish him nothing but the best.

What happened in the Haye fight. Did he freeze? Was he a rabbit in the headlights?

Seriously though, if he managed to get a fight with Povetkin....

Has Povetkin been in with a tall southpaw with the credentials of Audley (Olympic Gold, European champion, x2 Prizefighter champ)?

Povetkin hasn't looked great recently and looks undeniably worse than his Donald-Byrd-Chambers run...

Maybe beat Oquendo (WBA #5) and get a shot at Povetkin?

I believe.

It's hard not to admire a man who has had some many setbacks, so much ridicule, but it still going, still trying to achieve what basically seems like an impossible dream.
