Overeem Tests Clean; Has Low Testosterone

A blood test administered to heavyweight Alistair Overeem following his loss at UFC 156 earlier this month has come back clean, and with testosterone levels below the normal testing range.

Overeem, along with the other 21 fighters on the UFC 156 card, tested clean for performance-enhancing drugs, recreational drugs and drugs of abuse in a post-fight drug test. But Overeem was required to take a blood test in addition to the standard urinalysis.

But with his blood test form his UFC 156 fight, his testosterone total level actually fell below the normal range of 250-1,100 nano grams per deciliter (ng/dL). Overeem's total testosterone came in at 179 from the test, which was administered the morning after the fight at 8:25 a.m. on Feb. 3.

Great. Now, he can parlay the results of his previous doping into a TRT exemption.

It's not all about aesthetics, I've seen some of the footage of Overeem doing decent strength to weight movements for a guy his size.. Not incredibly strong, but still strong for a guy who isn't an outright strength athlete.

Based on that, he's abused it. Problem is he's got such a great physique that nobody gives him credit for the work he's put in. It's not like you take performance enhancers, go to sleep and wake up like that. In fact, if you don't put the work in, you won't get shit out of them.

It also leaves a bad stigma for guys that are natural, and ripped, strong etc.

Doesn't really matter. Without hormones he NEVER would have got that physique. So not much point in commending him for his hard work when his cheated for sooo long. That's like commending a thief for his ingenuity at mugging people. I don't give a shit whether his good at it. Because he shouldn't be doing it.

@scurlaruntings what do you think this means? Think he's gonna start using again or what? I don't really get this whole ped thing, I just figured they use while in training and a couple weeks before come off to piss clean.

your a bit misunderstood on this, it is actually the ped's that gave him that physique and your right if you dont work hard you wont get shit from it but its the steroids and testosterone and growth hormone that allow you to train hard, they will keep you injury free, boost recovery ten fold and give you more of a get up and go attitude so the reem couldnt train as hard as he would without them without over training or getting injured

These guys never stop using. Once you get on gear you don't come off. At which point the benefits aren't just physical they're psychological.
The long and short is only the idiots get caught. Its easy enough for them to cycle on and off in between fights. Overeem got lazy. Now he has a great excuse for a TRT exemption so he can now take them legally. The whole system is a farce.

So far we know that Reem with low testosterone coincides witha brutal ko and Reem with high testosterone coincides with him dealing out brutal kos.

So does this mean Overeem is taking something to lower his testosterone as a cover up or is this the result of poor cycling? I'm not educated on this shit at all.
