Price has a lot of talent. I still think his punching power is close to the best in the heavyweights. I think this loss may help him to be honest. His head got to big and now that I look back at it fight Thompson was dumb. He had nothing to gain and everything to lose in that fight. Maybe the punch was luck but it does not look good when the first time you step up you get ktfo. I do like the fact he got up. I was shocked by to ko but it happens. Looks how far Wlad came after his ko's. I still give Price a good chance of winning a belt. But I think Fury is the best of the two at this point.

Although Thompson certainly was game, he only actually landed about 4 punches during that entire time. Price's defense & ring generalship was fantastic.

The punch that took Price down was ON THE BACK of the ear, and the only reason Price was so badly wobbled was because his eardrum burst, causing him to completely lose his balance. He did NOT go down due to the power of the shot.

So, that fight says absolutely nothing about Price's "chin, "defense", or his chances against Wlad.

To say otherwise is to unquestionably prove your DKSAB-ness.

You must have parrot genetics because all you do is REPEAT yourself!

Truth is TTT has impressive footwork for a hw, a lovely right shoulder faint, isn't afraid to clinch when necessary, and jabs to the body, which is mostly what you see the best fighters elites like Floyd, Maravilla, and Jmm doing. Sometimes TTT has looked kinda shitty he seemed like a hot and cold inconsistent fighter to me, but dang that really was a nice counter combination started and setup by an uppercut catching Price walking in. If only TTT was quicker and more aggressive he'd be a serious threat to the K bros or Haye. But, I guess 40 is today's 30. Great performance by the Tiger. Hope he gets a boost and rides the momentum.

Curious facts..... Pulev is ranked above WBA champ Alex Povetkin in the boxrec ratings, Audley Harrison is rated 4 places higher than David Price too... And all are above Malik Scott ... Unreal..

Who does this strong belief reside with other than you?

There was nothing lucky about the punch. Thompson intended to punch Price in the head. The burst-eardrum-causing-lack-of-balance argument doesn't hold up either. Razor Ruddock burst Tyson's eardrum in their 2nd fight, but Tyson didn't even go down.

I do believe Price has talent, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. He hasn't even started taking on fighters under 40, and he has already been knocked out.

Price may be ready for Klitschko one day, give him 5-6 years to get back on track and then he can start thinking about fighting a top 20 guy.
Exactly, it was a real Fernando Vargas type situation. This young unhoned guy is throw to the wolves too soon. If Prices handlers give him 9-10 years to develop his craft he will still be a superstar.

The man who stopped him was a 42 year old named Tony Thompson. Though the bookies had Price at a 10-to-1 favorite, Thompson had other plans. At the advanced age of 42, Thompson, nearly 30 lbs overweight, managed to easily impose his will on the novice Price using veteran tactics learned over the years. Price was stopped in the second round by a single punch who many at ringside thought was only a grazing, cuffing shot that wouldn't have phased most boxers from other areas.

Price seems steadfast in his will to claim the HW crown. Price insists that he has what it takes to rule the heavyweight scene, despite the numerous detractors that have come out of the woodwork since his defeat.

Before the defeat, a bout with current champion Wladimir Klitschko was gaining a great deal of interest. Price had shown against domestic opposition time and again that he had the power and raw talent to compete with a Klitschko. Though many speculate that Price will go the way of lesser fighters such as Tye Fields, a strong belief remains that Price will rise again to defeat a Klitschko.

Price must accept that he is still a top quality fighter who was hit by a lucky punch in a sport where anything can happen. If Price can manage to believe in himself once again, and his supporters remain true, his ceiling of potential is virtually without bound.

What do you think, ESB?
Oh fuck no. Wlad by sickening, stomach-turning knockout.

It would not be so bad, except he parrots the same tripe over and over. Occasionally the guy really has some interesting stuff but as of late it is just the same old monotony. Him and that Nonito smoak guy have turned into the two most boring non trolls on this site.
