Default Canelo questions Mayweather reasoning for not signing

Over at the RingTV..

Not sure if this is a new interview, but I believe his focus needs to be only on Trout. I'm not one to think you should have 2 fights planned at a time so I definitely don't blame anyone for that. Take care of one fight first, and then sign for the second.

Although we saw them in this forum, I don't think many people were going to buy the ppv strictly to see Canelo, 100-200k tops, but him being on the undercard wasn't going to make or break the event. Even though he's popular, he's not yet paid dues to dictate anything.

**Mod edit**

You listed the wrong source for the news. It originally came from RingTV

Damn. Canelo thinks very highly of himself. A trait Mayweather also shares, but at least he has the numbers to back it up.

Anyone with a brain should know not to make demands of Mayweather.

Especially if you don't have the leverage to at least justify them when he refuses them.

I think Mayweather will still take the fight, but I also think that the days when Floyd would consider a demand like this (pre-Oscar) are long gone.

Really, who does Canelo think he is?

Canelo a funny guy, he fighting trout probably the second most meaningful fight that can be made at jmw and he still ain't on ppv.

Also floyd not signing just shows that floyd is focused on Guerrero. All that other shit can wait till the fight is over. Floyd don't look pass opponents, hence why he is always focused in ring. Ortiz, del la Hoya, hatton and many more all looked ahead to bigger fights and got tripped up along the way.

LOL @ the Floyd nuthuggers on this thread

While I agree you should only look 1 fight at a time and that signing for 2 fights in advance instead of 1 is stupid you're all missing the point, as is usually the case with Flomos

The point is Floyd verbally agreed to fight Canelo and AGREED to sign a contract with those terms. Those terms WERE drawn up, only Floyd's signature was left. In the meantime Canelo committed to the undercard and with a great opponent, let's face it, for non-Flomos Canelo v Trout is the match-up of the year along with Donaire-Rigondeaux...

So the point is Floyd said he'd fight him, said he'd sign, got him committed to the undercard and then obviously in the hope of having Canelo on that card without the guarantee, once everything was sorted he decides not to sign

That's why Canelo is annoyed, the fact is Floyd wanted him on the card but doesn't want to fight him - so it's not Canelo dictating terms, these are terms Floyd already had agreed to, he basically wanted to con Canelo into making him more PPV cash

Look past the man-love Flomos - jeez

The reason he should have signed to fight the winner is because he is in a mismatch. How much more exiciting would both fights be if you knew the winners where going to fight. For me the undercard was the deal breaker.

Maybe Floyd did not want to sign because he thought Canelo might lose and he would end up with another "Judah" situation. Of course if he did think that then it would have been smart to say so.

LOL I've said this 3 or 4 times on here...once again:

The contract terms were that they would fight IF BOTH WON THEIR FIGHTS ON MAY 4th...

Hopefully that's understood

According to Canelo. How do we know that's what happened? Isn't it entirely possible that GBP assured him that he would get Mayweather next to get him on the May 4th card? Considering it would be completely non-sensical for Mayweather to make such an agreement, why would we assume that Alvarez got a verbal agreement from Mayweather himself?

And what if Canelo gets a gift decision vs Trout? (which is most likely)

I bet you'll love Floyd honoring that contract huh

Floyd a G for telling Canelo to **** off.
