Default Effective trick I used for the first time in sparring

To set up a body shot, against a tall sparring partner I was pawing with my jab and then I just held it in front of his face extended measuring him but blinding his vision with my glove at the same time and then firing a straight right to the body really took a lot of vinegar out of him. Would you consider this dirty or just a useful tactic or both? It really helped me set the shot up I like it. I see a lot of old time fighters use it. I found a rare max baer special called "fisticuffs" in which he shows some boxing tricks and clowns around probably a news reel at one point @ 4:05 is the trick i'm talking about.

Everyone does it. They'll let you know how far you can abuse it
Measure with that jab and follow with a different variety of angles each time to keep them guessing

Ok cool, I don't want to be know as a dirty fighter. I will retaliate if I am getting fouled but i dont want to take cheap shots especially with guys at my own gym. However i found it very effective and its not like i'm thumbing the guy its just blinding him with my glove so he cant see the other one coming ha. I like it alot
