McCallum's imo was better and I compare it to the Murderer's Row as similarly allot weren't rated that highly at the time and some avoided, like Herol Graham, Jackson, Kalambay, Michael Watson, Collins, Kalule. None of them are fashionable names but all would be very hard for any LMW to beat.

Obviously Toney was rated highly and McCallum arguably beat him aged 35. Curry and McCrory was re-invigorated at 154 too.

McCallum's competition was not better than Griffiths. At all. Not close.

C'mon. I voted for McCallum in this matchup. Don't make us look bad.

I wonder would Bennie Briscoe have been McCallum's best scalp?

If you actually take off the 'everything before 1980 was better' specs off and compare the opposition it is close:

Toney-Monzon
Kalambay-Tiger
Julian Jackson-Benvenuti
Curry-Rodriguez
Herol Graham-Paret
Mike Watson-Joey Archer
Collins-Briscoe
Kalule-Dupas

Maybe if you're limiting it to 8 scalps a piece.

Why is that close? Even with this weird 8 fighters thing you've pulled out your ass, Griffith's comp is almost exclusively better.

Anytime you a) are talking about someone who fought Roy Jones b) say "take of the 'everything before 1980's was better specs'", I know that even you know you are wrong.

Exactly. Then again does 1 win over Rodriguez trump Sean Mannion?

Ortega x2 over Collins by a mile. First man to stop Ortega too I think.

Watch some of those boxers that McCallum fought and maybe you'll comprehend it. As you genuinely seem baffled I'd suggest it's because you haven't studied the boxers I listed. In a league format where everyone faced everyone McCallum's comp beats Griffith's comp.

It has having nothing to do with Roy Jones as McCallum was way past his best by then. I am a fan of this era though considering 1 of the best from what I've seen of the fighters in it, so in that sense I may have a bias. But in my view the 60s just wasn't as good as an era as the 80s.

McCallum has depth below those 8

That's the thing though PP, you've been saying this for years. "Watch those fighters you've obviously never seen them." But you know i've seen them. It's what you always say when you put your foot in it.

Of course i'm familiar with those fighters. Of course Griffith's victims were better. Rodriguez would make Curry wear his intestines as a balloon animal hat. It isn't even funny that you've paired them.

I will say that throwing around accusations of bias and ignorance within one post of your **** up is a new record though.

Curry cleared out a very good WW division and was considered P4P no1 for a time. He's 1 of the best H2H WWs of all time.

Curry would thrive against a lighter hitter like Rodriguez. If it was posted as a match up no one would find it ridiculous 'not even funny' or 'a **** up', it'd be a genuinely interesting match up between 2 great welterweights.
