Default Tyrell Biggs vs Carl "The Truth" Williams

In a 12 rounder, who's jab would win out?

Williams wins a comfortable decision IMO; he would know to much:

Williams WU12 8/4 to 7/5

Believe it or not, this fight was scheduled to happen in January 1990, but Truth had to bail out at the last minute due to a supposed back injury in training. The fight was scheduled for 12 rounds, and was for the USBA regional title, held by Carl Williams. Biggs wound up fighting Ossie Ocasio in what turned out to be a 10 round sleep fest, and in the main event, Tim Witherspoon KO'd jouneyman Jeff Sims.

I suppose that if Biggs and Williams had gone at it on that night as originally scheduled, I would have picked Biggs by a close decision, but if the fight had taken place against Williams in his prime ( 5 years earlier), then I would always pick Truth to win.

Biggs could have been much more, his pro-career was really disappointing IMO, I would favour "The Truth" to UD or even TKO Tyrell late...

I think that Carl would have beaten tyrell- both men had and demonstrated good hearts but punch resistance was not their forte--it seemed Tyrell had a good chin but the left hook he did not possess so greatly Truth had more power and was a better two handed puncher imo I would have loved to seen Williams face Dokes thomas and Page and bonescrusher i think he would have beaten them by decision at their very best//

"The Truth", by comfortable decision.

Biggs was a fine amateur, but never set the world alight as a pro for whatever reason (fragile mentality and low self-confidence seemed to contribute to this. Coupled with not having the greatest punch resistance).

I simmed this matchup in a best of five. The Truth won 4, TKO 5, TKO 10, TKO 11, and a KO 8. He lost one TKO 5 due to a cut from an accidental head butt.

After that initial date .. Tyrell and Carl were once again matched at the Plaza in Las Vegas in April 1993 but Once again Williams pulled out leaving Biggs fighting Mike Hunter... I too would have gone for Biggs but Williams in many peoples opinion according to Ring Magazine poll .. was the best heavyweight NEVER to have become champ..
Thats unreal..

Williams fought at a higher level. He seemed better poised on the big stage and given Biggs' style, Williams wouldn't have to fear being crowded or forced into an uncomfortable type of fight. I also feel that Williams had a far better right hand than Biggs and was the superior finisher. Williams WU.

Williams did fight on a higher level, but he also had a worse chin. However, Biggs was not a big puncher, so it seems unlikely he'd knock him out. He might send "The Truth" on one or more of his frequent trips to the canvas however, and pull out a UD.

I think Carl had the more authoritative jab than Tyrell, though Biggs may have been a slightly better puncher, and slightly faster. I think Williams survives some scary moments, and wins a close unanimous decision.
