it is unfair to make a comparision between them cos solis havent did enough fights and out of shape...povetkin is better today but if solis
train well and come to a nice body shape , he has more potential then povetkin... |

If Solis can come down to about 230 his speed should return as well as his defense footwork, then it becomes a very even fight. Until then however this version of Solis is a few notches below. |

Because of the fact that Solis comes in so heavy, you can also question his desire. It seems to me Solis thinks that he only has to turn up to win. So far so good, but at some point he's gotta show whether he really wants it or not and I got my doubts. |

Solis is on the right track don't get me wrong, but Sasha is already there. They are at different ends of the scale already, Povetkin is already on track for big things, Solis however moving in the right direction is at the bottom of the same ladder. Eventually given that Solis stays true to his potential, the two may meet but it won't be anytime soon. Alex is boxing like a seasoned veteran.. He is the closest thing to a Tyson coming i have seen since 1986..
Aldo Colliander and Larry Donald are like a mercedes Benz being compared to a fucking Skoda.. God bless Y'all |

Solis looks like a danger by the way he has been beating more seasoned fighters than himself, same with Alex but Alex is ahead of Solis in developement but if Solis keeps fighting at that pace who knows,I like Alex right now

Well here is some info, In Cuba Oldanier Solis beat Felix Savon when he was pretty much in his primes, In 2000 he could not participate in the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], because Cuba wanted to allow hero Félix Savón to win his third consecutive Olympic gold, thereby equalizing the record of [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], now this says alot about Solis's skill level and defence ability cause if you look at Savon... every fighter that fought him just went in there to accomplish no being knock-out, now i know he is not in his best shape right now, but believe he will get there, but think, to beat Savon twice who is known as one of the greatest olympic heavyweights of all times if not the greatest, thats a pretty good statement, So to say that povetkin has more skill level or potential than Solis... thats just wrong, if the fight ever happens... Solis will win.

Being a pro is just so much different though.
They are almost different sports. Povetkin is really looking like a solid professional fighter now. Solis really hasnt made any real solid transition yet, he has just smashed some pretty mediocre opposition and put on heaps of weight. That being said Solis still probably demolishes at least half of the top40 heavyweights right now. I just cant see him succeeding at the elite 12x3 level at that weight. |

If Solis decided to come in shape his defensive ability, which was what made him such a great amateur would return as he fought very well going backwards. However until then he relies on his offense which is exactly the way it was in the amateurs and has never been a real strength of his. Solis would best be served by coming in at 225-230 where he could fight like a larger harder hitting version of Chris Byrd. However in a shoot out his offense is subpar to that of Povetkin's and he would lose. |
