Default Boxing on Foxtel via Xbox 360

Any of you blokes get Foxtel on Xbox via the www, for your boxing pleasure?

Seems to be somewhat cheaper than the regular sat/cable connection at only $30m.
That gives you sport only.

Hey Sox, I have it, you need xbox live in the first place ($100 per yearish) and on top its $20 for base fox and additional $30 for the sports package per month. The resolution is not that good, maybe on par with analogue tv. Be cool!

Thanks mate.

Yeh I think the Xbox live is $90pa, but I wasn't aware the $30 sports package was additional to the $20 basic packages. The info on the Foxtel site isn't clear at all.

It becomes not so cheap then, and I believe you can't use the Xbox HDD to record either?

Works out to almost $60pm, I can get the IQHD via satellite for just under $80pm including the sports package, and it will record.

I get it too, but i get it mainly for the league, 50 bucks a month with sport and the basic package.
I like it coz unlike the regualr fox box etc you can cancel your subscription at anytime and there are no lock in contracts.
But yes, you can not record from it, even hooking the xbox up to my DVD recorder it is encoded and wont let you record.

I found a place that sells xbox live gold codes (12 months) for 40 bucks, just purchased one last week. at half price ya cant go wrong

Can you send me info on the $40 Xbox live.

How do you go with dropouts? do you have a fast net connection, as mine can be a little flakey at times, but it's mostly above 4mbs.
And what about data usage? I have 75gb/m.

The lack of lock in contract is what appeals to me.

Check your inbox mate.

I ocassionally get drop outs but all in all it is pretty good.
It takes 800mb per hour on the high quality though. I have unlimited downloads per month so no problems, but you would def need more that 75 gig I would think, depending on what else you use your net for and how long you would watch fox.

800mb/h is ok, I only want it for boxing, I'm guessing there wouldn't even be 20h of boxing a month. Less than 20gb.
I currently only use around 15-20gb/m for surfing.

YEah you would be sweet then, it says you only need a 2mbs connection, Im not sure what my speeds are but i have been downloading stuff at 1.3mpbs in utorrent watched fox at the same time with no drop outs or anything, this is wirelessley too, if you are plugging a cable into teh back of your xbox it would be better im guessing

Is that using HDMI cable connections? If not, that might help the resolution.

I use HDMI cables and its pretty much what you would get on Standard definition broadcasts.

Yet on the Foxtel/Xbox section there's a PPV link, but it seems that it's only 'on demand' stuff, not main event stuff.

Thanks anyway guys, I might give it a miss and go for the full thing, if I decide to do it again that is.
The costs are $53 as opposed to the sat connection at $72.

Sat gives me HD plus recording...
