Default Bob Foster vs. Current Light Heavies

Lets say Foster vs. Glen Johnson, Antonio Tarver, and Roy Jones.

How does he do against each of this trio and why?

Foster vs Current light heavis? I think Foster wins all of these matches as Johnson, Tarver and Jones are washed up.

A prime Foster has too much for prime Tarver and Johnson. Foster vs Jones is intersting, but I think Foster would get the KO or decsion. Foster's height, reach and power would bother Jones. Jones would need to become the agressive puncher and risk much to win...and that is not who he is.

On second thought, Roy Jones IMO would not fight a prime Foster unless Foster was champ and there was only 1 belt.

Bob Foster will knock out all of them on current form, latest by the middle rounds.

Foster kayos Tarver and Johnson regardless of their forms, including their peaks.

A prime Jones, with the tremendous skill and ability he had, might have edged Foster.

But then Foster might have tagged him somewhere along the way and stopped him.

To inform anyone who dosen't remember, or who weren't around at the time, Bob Foster would have knocked out any of these guys within 8 rounds, and I'm specifically referring to the version of Foster who ko'ed Dick Tiger, Mike Quarry and Vincente Rondon. These current guys would have met the same fate.

Oh, Roy Jones and Bernard Hopkins, add them to the list. Foster could have been outboxed for a few rounds by Jones, maybe, but remember what happened when Tarver found his chin. There is nothing that Tarver could do that Foster couldn't do better. Hopkins too, for that matter, unless he did everything to avoid fighting and concentrated 100% on defense, then he's lose a lopsided decision.

Foster would utterly murder Tarver and Johnson.

I agree with the sentiment expressed so far. He'd ice all of them now, and all three in their primes. Jones may have survived and even made things interesting for a while, but Foster's brutal power and lanky height and reach would make things very tough for the defensive-minded Jones.

Yep. A younger Jones Jr would stand a fine chance, though for sure.

He's just too big and strong for the other two to handle. Chilling power as well especially at that weight.

RJJ's movement and skill would make him a live threat in there, but he'd have to put in an immense performance to pull it off. No room for mistakes or sloppyness to creep in.

Maybe the hardest hitting 175 ever, certainly a damn good chance of it. Jones speed would give him a show, but Fosters own handspeed, jab and potential need for just one single big shot leads me to call Foster a 7-5 favourite. Many experts would disagree, but that would be my odds.

Three wins ,though a prime Jones would give him problems imo.

I think he's the hardest hitting 175 pounder of all time, honestly.

Guy cut up Ali and wobbled him.
