Not really though. Collins would of lost to Calzaghe IMO. Where as Calzaghe would of beaten Froch so it ain't the same at all.

It is the same because that is only your opinion. You may be correct, but the point is Collins only wanted big names at that point or he would rather retire (which he did) and Calzaghe wasn't a big name in his opinion. The same scenario as Calzaghe with Froch, at the time Calzaghe wanted big names which at that point Froch wasn't, at least worldwide anyway.

I get what your saying but the way I see it, Collins v Calzaghe was really high risk - low reward for Collins. Where as Calzaghe v Froch would of been low risk - low reward for Calzaghe. That's why IMO it aint the same.

I disagree, losing to a fellow Brit was very high risk.

Joe mustve felt pretty smug having beaten 3 of the 4 guys around the table and was ducked by the other guy.

Chris hit a nerve with Collins when mentioning Calzaghe. He definately ducked him.

Collins-Calzaghe wouldve been a great fight on the eye.

It would've been horrible and scrappy. Neither knew how to punch.

Collins is a prick, Eubank got to him there big time, and with good reason. Saying Calzaghe won an interim title as he was still champ, but he ddnt want to fight him and he had never heard of him, but he had a foot injury (not from a doctor, a WBO doctor!)... what a ****in arsehole. Eubank was at least honest on why he didnt want to fight anyone, and he was respectful despite giving Collins shit.

Lets face it, prime for prime Jones was probably the best there.

Roy Jones was even older, had been KO'd and was well past prime. Age means nothing, its the fights you've had not the age you are.

Collins announced his retirement on 2nd October 97. Calzaghe-Eubank was then upgraded to be for the full WBO title.
