I tried squating the other day with only 30kgs at home. And it was feeling pretty uncomfortable on my back. Where abouts should I position the bar.
I know this isnt a bodybuilding forum but i though i may as well ask. Any tips on squatting also? thanks in advance Sage |

I would stay away from squats. Not only can they hurt your back ,but they are bad for the knees as well. There are better ways to condition your legs for boxing. Roadwork will do it. SO will skipping rope. Other machines like the leg extension machine, reverse leg calf machine, and seated leg press work well too.

According to many strength experts, squats are the single best strength exercise you can do.
Yes, done wrong, they will injure you. Done right, they will make your legs, trunk, and back MUCH stronger for any sport. Read Starting Strength by Mark Rippetoe -- literally like 70 pages on how to squat the right way. Squat deep and squat heavy 3x a week and you will have a new body in 6 months |
