Chi town, wtf are you doing? You bet on them both?

I don't really have time or inclination to sit and crunch the numbers, but that can't be wise asset distribution. I lifted these odds directly from the actual online books, and there is no way they'd have set them so you mathematically stood a chance to profit by straddling either combatant.

Yeah man, you're losing money either way. Coming close to but not quite breaking even, and in neither case do you profit a cent.

Mayfield takes it = you reap $26 profit ($40 x 0.67), less than your $30 on Dulorme.

Dulorme takes it = you reap $37 profit ($30 x 1.25), less than your $40 on Mayfield.

What is the point?

No. Kovalev is a 1/33 favorite.

What difference does it make? I'm sure a lot of people will want to put down a bet. This fight is the HBO main event and you won't do it but will do the undercard? And who is to say you HAVE to go with the actual bookies. I've seen you put down favorable odds in the past. I'll probably give like 1/15 odds on Kovalev at Checkhook just for the heck of it. And for fights with odds this wide, people can always get in on the over/under action.

Just not how I roll. You have your own way of doing things, I've mine.

Yes, ofttimes if the odds are roughly around the 1/20 mark in a mismatch showcase for a popular fighter in a major televised event I'll drag 'em down to about 1/12 or so to make it reasonable.

1/33 is just too much of a departure, I would be more than halving the real-world line just to make it fit the usual standards of never really having more than a 1/12 (at most, 1/15 which still feels like a stretch...ideally, my preference could it be helped would be not to ever have even double-digit fave lines as pretty much anything except O/U betting then becomes a waste of time...) mismatch.

I'd rather err on the side of not having matches like this available for betting. If you disagree, well, that's fine, run yours differently.

What about the over/under? I realize being a vbookie requires subjectivity as you have to choose which fights are worthy of an event but I think the Kovalev fight deserves an event. It's HBO main event. If not too many people bet on straight odds due to the severity of the odds, I'm sure*a good deal of people will bet on the over/under.

In the end, it's no big deal.
