Examples of when ****** has taken a risk and failed

I cannot think of one with one of hes top fighters, Hatton beat Tysuzu, Calzaghe beat Lacy and Kessler.

Can anyone give me an example? Its a reason why i am wary for Haye in this fight.

No, by then ****** was slagging Naz off at every opportunity.

Takaloo lost against Santos but I think maybe ****** promoted both of them at the time. Skelton lost a world title shot recently so that didn't exactly pay off although Skelton is really a domestic/European level fighter so you could argue that it didn't harm him on those scenes and it was probably a nice pay cheque. Same with Danny Williams Vs Klitschko.

In the case of Willams and Klitschko and Skelton they had everything to gain with little to lose.

They were both going for world titles. Bruno was defending his against Tyson. Sure he got paid handsomely but it was practically a guarntee that he was going to be put on his arse...though Tyson had looked mediocre up until that point.

They were the only big fights that didn't pay off that I could think off. Agreed, I long WBO run for Enzo could make more money for FW than Skelton or Williams did so there is more risk involved

Tyson - Bruno is the best example.

Bruno was champion he had that to lose.

Bruno was underdog - he was likely to lose.

The only thing was he was older and nearing retirement and the payday was huge.

Still, overall it was a risk by ******s standards.

Alex Arthur against Michael Gomez appeared far more of a risk in hindsight than prior to the fight.

Whereas Lacy was far less of a risk for Calzaghe than many believed before the fight.

In addition, I don't believe ****** is taking as much as a risk as is being portrayed.

Are Maccarinelli's career prospects or earnings potential really significantly affected by Haye ko'ing him and then moving to HW, as opposed to the fight not happening and Haye moving to HW?

I really don't think they are.

Bruno got $6m for fighting Tyson in '96. He could've had $7m for fighting Lewis a second time instead. From just a purely financial point of view, ****** missed out on a little extra cash with that one.

Indeed I didn't know that....

That adds further weight to my argument...Bruno would have lost either way but one would have thought that a match with Lewis would have been preferable on the grounds that Bruno gave him hell the first time round whereas outside of one big moment in rnd1 Tyson beat his ass.
