What everyone else says about your trainer is right, but actually to tell you the truth, you could have died.

A subdural hematoma causes the pressure inside the cranium to rise, this is due to a severe hard hit to the outside of the skull, causing the blood vessels between the brain and the inner cranium wall to rupture and spew blood, forming a bubble of fluid which presses against your brain.

The first signs of a subdural hematoma (concussion) is vomiting and drowsiness. If the blood isn't drained by a doctor, a huge CLOT can form inside your brain, causing you to go into a coma.

It is not the same as being KO'd which is only due to shaking of the brain.

That isn't to be taken lightly. People are known to die from it.

Second, what do you think of my trainers decision to have me spar him full contact? I know that at a certain point you have to get thrown to the wolves, but for my first time going ful contact to be against a guy 30 lbs heavier and so much more experienced with a few am fights, telling him to bang away, I was surprised. Did you guys get eased into sparring or did they just throw you in like me?

Thanks
You should never spar anybody more than 15 pounds your weight period, what Gym did this happen at? after the 1st Knock down as a trainer I would have called it a day he allowed you to get up and get dropped again by a man clearly bigger than you, its your health so you should look out for it obviously he wont.

I didnt get eased into sparring I was always with someone on my level or a slight step above which is better cus you develope your skills that way. However the concussion could have happend in sparring prior to the knock downs you never know. what I will say is that you need to talk to your trainer and remind him your weight sometimes they dont stop to think they are caught up in making sure everybody gets some work in before they leave ie Mitts sparring etc...
no sparring for two months is the best advice I can give you, something like this has happend to me in the gym and I started sparring right away again BIG mistake as a result of it I have a Soctoma in my right eye, I have still been seeing the Dr on a regular bases to follow up on injuries that have happend three years ago, so far everything except my right eye is fine I have a damage nerve in my brain (not brain damage thank god) and my eye has a blind spot in it its hard to see Hooks comming.
anyhow please take care of yourself son, dont spar for two months allow your body time to recover dont work out for atleast a week if you go straight back into the gym that bouncing around shit wont help.
take some time off relax and go back to it but make sure you know when to say no when it comes to sparring if your 137 do not spar anybody over 150 period. and if he is over 150 lets say at 155 or so make sure he uses 18 oz gloves and you use 14s
Take care

I agree with what people are saying, your trainer was not serving your interests there. Definitely take a break for awhile to recover from that. Try to get as much sleep as you can. Maybe drinking lots of water would help too... i've heard you're more susceptible to brain injury when you're dehydrated... dont know how/if it factors into recovery.

Remember that concussions are serious and definitely don't count on your trainer to be looking out for your well being, so be smart about what you do.

My first sparring session I got knocked around a bit, but it was quite light to me. I took a hook straight to the face but it didnt phase me. I didnt walk away with a concussion either. Your gym and trainer ****ed you over, **** that.

Dont even talk to this trainer, he is an ass and you would be better off just finding a new one.

You shouldn't sit down with your trainer and talk to him. Just don't show up no more and find another gym.

Agreed, that shits suspect.. Everything adds up to shitty training, unless you have been talkin shit or your really talented and your trainer thought you could hang.. That sucks. Id definitely rest for a while...
