Yes, the poison was Sugar Ray Leonard...
I love Duran, but that's a ridiculous excuse.

Boxing is increasingly full of them. Anyone even suggesting they lost fair and square is a rarity.

A lion was recently found on the African veld after a set-to with a large bull elephant.

The lion had suffered three broken legs, several cracked ribs, a smashed snout, a concussion, and numerous internal injuries.

The big cat was not expected to survive.

The lion's supporters have concluded that the king of the beasts was the victim of a pre-fight drugging by the elephant's mafia connections.

Is it?...Is it? Because, mind, Ray Leonard's friends in the Nation of Islam sure didn't want Duran to win...

On the morning of the fight, Duran weighed 148 pounds, and he spent the hours before the weigh-in drying out. He came in at 146. Immediately afterward, he drank a large thermos of consommé, half a thermos of hot tea, and a full gallon of milk. He then wolfed down an orange as big as a grapefruit, consumed 4 apples, 10 bananas, and munched on several bags of potato chips until lunch. At 1:00 p.m., Duran ate lunch: two large T bone steaks, French fries, a spoon of peanut butter, four large glasses of orange juice, a wedge of cheese, two glasses of water, and a cup of tea. At 5:00 p.m. Duran ate 3 Ribeye Steaks, 2 salads, a bucket of fried chicken legs, half a cheese pizza, and drank tea. At 5:15 pm, he ate a Sirloin Steak, several McDonald's cheeseburgers, 4 pieces of bacon, and the rest of the cheese pizza. At 5:30 pm, he consumed a Snickers candybar and ate half a bag of M&Ms. At 5:45 pm he consumed an entire loaf of bread. At 6:00 pm, he drank 4 cans of an undislosed beer and enjoyed a bowl of ice cream. At 7:00 pm he ate half a steak and washed it down with half a bottle of wine. Minutes before the fight he quickly stuffed his face with an ice cream sandwhich.

Someone should tell him that Foreman cornered this excuse years ago.

It was well reported at the time that he had weight problems and overdid it after the weigh in. He could well of had a bad stomach. It could of just been frustration and Leonard played his part in that. I was in shock watching it, couldn't believe it. Can't remember now if I watched live or delayed after avoiding the result. It was a lot easier to do back in them days.

Didn't know that...
He could have said that the Nation of Islam threatened him with death...
It would be more plausible...
