Re: Does a Prime, Healthy Jeffries stop the Tom Sharkey of 1899?
Yes. Considering the damage he was able to inflict on Sailor Tom with just his right, having the use of his deadlier left would have resulted in a stoppage. (In the match, Jeffries did a masterful job of concealing the extent of damage done to his dislocated elbow, but the fact that all of Jeff's significant damage was done by his right, to the left side of Sharkey's body, betrays the serious nature of the training camp injury done to Jeff's normally lethal left arm. Given two healthy arms, yes, he finishes off Sharkey before the end of 25 rounds.
