Default Maccarinelli seems to want to rewrite history!

Right after the fight, Macca said he lost to a great Champion! We all said: "what a good sport Macca is!"

This is what he says now:

“If I’d been boxing my best and lost to a great champion – the No 1 in the world at the weight – I would have said I wasn’t good enough.
“But it’s not as if I’ve been beaten up for seven or eight rounds, I was holding my own and just got caught.”

Delusional or what?

Sour grapes and over inflated ego.

A bit of both.

Delusional sums it up yes.

Holding his own for a round and a half is hardly a boast even if it is to be believed anyway.

A 2nd round stoppage is the 2nd best result in boxing after a first round ko after all.

We must remember that.

Who cares. We all know what happened! His had time to reflect. And the reality was he didn't just get caught he got annihilated.

It's not good for a fighter to lie to himself if he wants to improve. You have to look facts straight into the face whilst not losing your hope and positive attitude.

True but ****** would have been blowing in his ears aswell as his friends and they would have convinced him "hey champ you just got caught". To bad in my opinion. We all know Macs limitations.

I guess he's just tying to gee himself up and get a bit of confidence back. He should give Haye more credit though.....

After such a devastating loss, Enzo will be looking to rebuild his ego any way he can. So stuff like this isn't so surprising, and yes I'm sure ****** has also been in full-blown damage control to boost the disappointed Enzo as well.

It'll be very interesting to see who his next opponent is.

Will he take on a quiet easy fight, or go for broke against someone like Cunningham, Arslan or Mormeck?

Well, if he was unlucky to get clipped, because he made an uncharacteristic mistake, he should really go for the best around, shouldn't he?

He was like a rabbit in the headlights for me. Haye looked to have adjusted well having kept the weight off after Mormeck and looked in great nick. I think Enzo wasn't as confident when he saw him in the ring.

He can keep saying he made a mistake as long as he likes if it cheers him up.....but isn't that what a lot of Boxing's about ? capitalising on opponents mistakes?

Enzo got a hiding, end of.

But he was holding his own before he got annihalated!

Hmm, actually he just looked scared to shit in the first round. And Haye even looked a class apart during their respective ring walks. I guess Macca might just about have been holding his own in the dressing room, that still counts!

I watched the fight and didnt see that at all. I saw a man that seemed to be wary to let his hands go was getting beaten to the punch and ate some meaty right hands.

Just like John Ruiz was holding his own against David Tua until he got caught.

Rewatched it yesterday and Macca got caught with a couple of good shots before Haye put him down, he was only holding his own because Haye was feeling him out and the fact that John Rawling tried to make a big deal of every shot Macca threw doesn't mean that Macca was in the fight.
