He is in the same situation as he was against M'Baye. I'm rooting for him.

He has subtle advantages. He is short and when you are that short and go lower, it can be hard. He gets you punching downwards and you become a little more exposed. He can reel off body shots quite easily too due to his height.

Rees has showed a bit more heart, stamina and power than recent times. On this level he has to continue to show that grit and toughness.

I'd like him to go further and be starched by Ricky or Junior in a nice pay day.

Yeah, I also think Kotelnik will win via decision.

Styles wise it doesn't look promising for Rees... But there are aspects of Kotelniks game that give me a bit of hope for Rees. Firstly KT is very cautious he doesn't like to throw unless he knows he's going to land. Rees is very good at staying just out of range and then quickly closing distance, letting a combo go then moving back out of range. Its on home ground- always a plus and KT inactivity over the last 18 months might make his timing slightly out which in this kind of fight could be key.

KT looked pretty excellent Vs Witter and M'baye but Rees poses an entirely diffferent proposition.. He's undefeated and has good speed and reasonable power. His size is an asset and if KT finds himself throwing and missing Rees might find himself in an excellent position to launch his Salvos and dishearten the German.

I think the safe bet would be KT to be savvy enough to time Rees' bursts and get his jab going enough to bust Rees up down the stretch for a UD but I like Rees' tenacity and fast hands. I think he can suprise a few with his clever movement and creative punch selection to take a never-easy points win.

I think that people have seen so little of Rees that nobody knows whether or not he can actually take some pasty.

OK, he is undefeated, but not a particularly inspiring record (not taking anything away from the kid) so I will reserve judgment until I see more.

I understand that Kotelnik looked decent against Witter, but sometimes Witter fails to show up and could make anyone look good - I didn't see that fight, so I have no idea!

At a guess, Kotelnik by SD.

I have a feeling Rees will sneak a home town decision!

I am really hoping that Ree's can pull off the win and retain his world title. Although Kotelink is fairly decent I do not think he is in the class to make it one sided, sure Ree's is in for an hard fight but he has a great chance of pulling through with the win.

Head says Kotelink KO9 but my heart says Ree's SD.

Look how bad Kotelnik was against M'Baye and look how he covered up doing nothing for 6 rounds against Witter.

Rees will win this.

It is true. Kotelnik is one of those full guard fighters who often forget to let their hands go cos they are covering up. Can Rees keep him honest when he lets his hands go!

I'm rooting for Rees.

Where has all this 'cant win a fight against a SN fighter' stuff come from?

Any win for rees at world level at 140 is a bonus, I think he has surpassed all expectatios by even winning a WBA belt, even at light welter at that.

If he can beat Mbaye he can beat Kotelnik, but he should rightfully be underdog.

its unlikely that mr khotelnik will pull a david haye especially given his crap KO percentage
