Default Organise these five fighters from first to last, pound for pound

Salvador Sanchez
Ricardo Lopez
Carolos Ortiz
Alexis Arguello
Jose Napoles

This would be in composite terms, that is taking everything relevant about that fighter into account - Greatness, Head to Head Ability, Skillset. If you use other criteria, please specify.

Jose Napoles better resume than carlos ortiz, uh no he doesnt. Ortiz should always rate higher than him.

There is no way salvador sanchez accomplished more than ortiz either.

Well if you read the first post you will see this thread is not just about accomplishments or resume.

well if you want to talk head to head ortiz was only outslicked by loi and laguna, he also beat them. Argeullo gets outboxed by nearly every boxer he has ever faced. Napoles is very prone to cuts.

Whatever you're on, i'll have a pound for it.

Arguello may have been a slow starter, but when push came to shove and it mattered Arguello was the master boxer later on, almost always finishing strongly over the top of opponents, usually with devastation at the finish. Alexis clinically dissected his opposition, and if he gave away a few rounds early finding out what he wanted to know - so be it, because later on he would be raking the shit out of them, or ending it with just a couple of well placed and perfectly timed bombs.

Ortiz was also outslicked by Kenny Lane. In the rematch Ortiz stopped Lane because of a cut but in the rubber match he nearly lost to Lane again.

I have no issue with anyone shuffling the order of Napoles, Sanchez, Arguello and Ortiz however they like. They are all roughly on the same level according to those criteria. I'd have Lopez a clear 5th, but only because his crappy comp makes him fall short of the level of greatness the others enjoy. In terms of skills and head to head ability, I'd say he's up there with the rest of them.

I dont know why youre so hard on his competition. I mean viraporin, alex sanchez and the guy that kod humberto gonzalez were all legitimate challengers and lopez beat them all. I noticed that you ruled the first alvarez fight in favour of alvarez and the 2nd a draw, when i talk to everybody they always say that lopez clearly beat him in the rematch.

They may have been legitimate challengers, but they still pale in comparison to the sum total of good fighters the others fought...hardly Lopez' fault but just the way it is.

Vorapin btw was finished when he fought Lopez, that fight should have happened earlier and Vorapin was not very good anyway.None of the other champions were.
