Guzman was also in the hunt for the fall fight with Pacquiao, but running behind Soto. Now that neither one of them is getting the match, there is talk that they will fight each other this fall, possibly on the Pacquiao-Barrera II HBO PPV undercard. Good fight. I remember there was talks of this happening back in January, but Guzman's manager rejected it because it wasnt enough time for Guzman to prepare, and now Guzman has been inactive for awhile now blaming the security of a high profiled fight, but with this fight on the card the winner will clearly have to go against the winner of the Main event of Pac-Mab 2. Soto vs. Guzman Who do ya'll got? |

Great fight, although I'd much rather have seen either fighting Pac this fall (which would have still allowed for MAB-JMM II...the ideal course of events).

That is exactly what needs to happen, for these to fight, with the winner earning a shot at Pacman. I am leaning towards a UD by Soto who is younger and much stronger, with a lightly better comptetition.

i saw in that barrios fight that guzman got hit quite a bit when he was exchanging with him. guzman could outbox him but soto can definitely drag him into a war and knock him down with a good punch.
