Your looking at at least 1500 for every SN show he boxed on let alone the rest...

and a fair bit more on at least 50 frank ****** bills where opponents pulled out at the last second and ****** called him in , knowing he would go the full route and would not lie down and of course frank would not have to pay the air fare/hotel bills etcetc of an import.

i agree with you buckley hopefully will be sitting on a very nice nest egg.

i must have seen him fight live at least 30 times on undercards.

he was virtually on a ****** retainer for 20 years from bantam to light welter there was not a ****** fighter in that period at those weightclasses that did not go in with peter.

for those that saying he was not fit or he lost to much, look at his record.

from bantam to 130 he was virtually unstoppable.

i saw the 2 hamed fights when hamed was in his prime at bantam , and bucley was never hurt in either of them and the stoppage in the second fight was calzaghe v manfredo poor.

Booth is stll podgy but not over the top Danny Williams style. He keeps in decent shape and has had a good career from the sport. I have seen him a few times up and down, his "Ali shuffle" is always hilarious.

He did an amazing service to British boxing, and it is a shame he did not get to 300 fights.

He may of suffered more losses than any British fighter, but I also reckon he suffered the most half/one point defeats, and thus probably the most robberies; maybe as many as 50/60 unlucky defeats...

Wouldn't getting stopped means he wouldn't of taken all these punches he's taken though, as he would have all the suspensions from being stopped meaning less damage than whats he's took being allowed to take so many fights?

Plus he took so many on last minute so his fitness wasn't as good.

Buckley was Interviewed In a 2006 maybe 07 Issue of Boxing monthly and he said he has been able to afford alot of nice holidays and things for his family anyway.

The amount of losses makes no difference. Peter Buckley would always be in shape as he would a fight on hour's, day's or week's notice. If he wasn't in some sort of shape he eventually wouldn't get the call.

Boxing needs guys like Peter Buckley but I hope he has a long and happy retirement, ne deserves it.

He was fighting every week so he was always in shape... Try doing a six round spar once a week and see how fit you get...

Yes but I more fondly remember his British title challenge Vs Crawford Ashley... What a fight! Seriously that should have been fight of the year.

Light heavy I think.... I've not looked at Boxrec but i'm sure he beat Bruce Scott too and drew with Eddy Smulders. I'm a ****ing genius.

Yeah he was pretty good. Always fun to watch. Few good wins at the end of his career. Can't remember him beating Negus, Corbett garry Delaney. Weird.
