Now get back to your game of Brisca!

This is true.

I found a picture of Joe Louis soon after his controversial 15 round points win over Walcott :

It was his greatest victory, but it wasn't his most dangerous opponent.

Liston would have destroyed any version of Patterson in 1969 (and perhaps in 1979 as well).

Liston.

Hits too hard and he's more durable.

Hence, Walcott give out before Liston does.

Film shows Louis was knocked down 3 times, outboxed, befuddled, outsmarted, outmanuevered, outjabbed

I think Liston beats walcott, but walcott gives him a close fight. the plan walcott uses is the same plan he used in louis I fight

I scored that one to Walcott when I scored it, which was some time ago. I forget the score but I did have it closer than most, if I remember. Do you think of it as a robbery?

So you think he can jab with Liston? I mean if we're talking about peak versions, I think that this would get Walcott dominated and stopped. Liston is also a more adaptable man, he won't be blindly carrying out the fight plan, he'll be adapting as he goes.

I see a stoppage, late if Walcott gets and stays mobile, early if he doesn't, and in the middle rounds if he bikes but tries to jab. A mix of all three would be ideal, but the end or something like it could arrive at almost any moment.

Yes I have all 15 rounds of the fight most in highlighs but I thought walcott won at least 9 of the 15 rounds. I consider it one of the worst decisions in history, right up their with lennox holyfield I. Louis however got his revenge and knocked out walcott in devastating fashion in the rematch and deserves alot of credit for it, walcott was way up on the scorecards at the time of the stoppage

I don't see it as being a robbery, though I would have if I had been Walcott! We agree Walcott should have got the nod anyway.

The KO in the rematch - Louis is guilty of lax punching technique for that KO. That knock out fascinates me. Louis throwing improper punches, commiting 110% to speed to save the day. His speed was underated in my view because there was so little between inception and detination.

I like that knock out a lot. He needed it, as you say.

No.....that wasnt walcotts style. first off walcott had an excellent jab, very fast and accurate. Against Liston he would not have a Jab a thon with him, he would use his jab on occasion, usually after feinting or doing his walcott waltz....but he would be throwing triple jabs combinations to liston like he did to louis that would befuddle him and open liston up for sharp counters.

I don't know about that, walcott could do just about everything

This is what walcott does, he throws at you every old school trick in the book. Walcott immediately finds your weakness and exploits it with his bag of tricks the rest of the fight.....

Although I do see a liston stoppage as likely and consider liston one of the greatest punchers ever, I do think your underating Walcotts durability. He faced more punchers than any heavyweight champion ever faced and yet only suffered two knockout losses near his prime to ATG's louis and marciano. All those 1930s knockouts losses did not contribute to his chin. For instance he was not knocked out cleanly by abe simon, it was more of stamina/out of shape issues.
