I do admire the Walcott jab, but we agree jabbing would be suicide. So Walcott, as you say, will be slipping and locking for the counter. The problem is that every time he lands one he risks being KO'd, or at least is set to KD'd. Secondly, whilst Walcott is on his way out - which he does well, escaping - Liston will be on him like a panther on a cow. That is where Liston absolutley excells. I just don't think there is a ring big enough for Walcott to execute his strategy properly in this case.

To be clear - more adaptable than Louis, not Walcott. Louis fought to the fight plan, you know? Obviously allowing for his own alterations in a rematch. Liston will break from a fight plan in an instant if he can see an advantage. This is a serious, serious difference beteen the Louis fight and the prospect of fighting Liston.

Interesting matchup!!!

I think that Sonny's jab would give Walcott loads of trouble.

Walcott was great but very inconsistent, whereas Sonny was

a winning fighter (aside from the Marshall loss) until he ran into

Ali. Both of these fighters had great left hooks, but Sonny's

jab was so hard and so long that I think Walcott would be

in for a tough night!

Liston, by UD. Mark my words, though on their respective best nights this would be a close contest. Slight edge to Sonny: 9-6 in rounds.
