Sullivan look about 70 there ,he was in fact 52! the footage was taken at Jeffries training camp in 1910.

Yeah and he probably weighed over 300 pounds, hadn't touched a boxing glove in many years, and would be dead at age 59.

that documentary is whacked, john morrissey was not the first recognized world champion, paddy ryan definitely wasn't the second, and john l. didn't win over 200 fights. that historian needs to stick to the civil war.

Yeah he was not the first World Champ John L was. But he had to prove it, John L had to travel from country to country, beating that country champion(Well across the ocean any way lol)

You make a good point regarding the Irish at this point in time. It's kinda amazing John L. was ever as popular as he was when one considers that fact.
