Default Question For Classic Posters...

I would like your opinions about talking today's fight game in the classic forum. Although this is a forum dedicated to classic boxing, its also the only safe place to talk boxing. I am being driven out of the general forum by having to read 10 bad posts to find 1, and fankly I'm tired of it.

My question is simply whether you would mind if I started an occasional thread about todays fight game, or whether you would rather keep it stricly classic... I respect whatever the group consensus reflects.

I'm in agreement to be honest, I can't stand looking in the general forum as I'm sick of threads about Pacman and Calzaghe (two of my favourite active fighters btw).

There seems to be no middle ground in the general forum, you're either a dickrider or a hater, and the topics in the classic forum are way better.

This place isn't as busy as the 'general' forum, but it's better for quality. Where you guys previously were is full of trash talkers.

And I respect the sanctity of the classic forum. Disrupting it is actually my biggest objection for posting about current fights... I fear that the more posters catch on that the quality is much greater here the more people will be posting in the classic forum and the idiocy will be carried over. That would be a damm shame.

Agreed, if you say one thing negative about Wladimir Klitschko, you're automatically labeled a hater. If you try and give him credit for anything, you're a nuthugger.

That being said, would some of you classic forum posters like to discuss current boxing here in this forum, or just continue to go there?

I beg to differ. The general forum has far worse offenders. Amsterdam for the most part is playing with them, if you have the right context to understand what is happening.

You're probably best to keep this single thread dedicated to current active fighters. If threads are continually opened up on active fighters it will ruin the 'classic' status on this section. And will more than likely annoy the regulars on here, maybe. Some threads are opened on here regularly about fighters like De La Hoya and Hopkins, but usually it's along the lines of "where do they rank pound for pound in history"

acb i like ur idea but hope general posters dont join in. i cant stand posting there either, they are all foolish and i dont know how many times i have been told i dont know boxing by someone just for hating on one of their fighters. so u have my approval but i definatly think u should make sure some of the more regualar posters agree with it seeing i am not on that often.

Thanks man lol.

I really hate the general forum, I just check in there to see if there's any news on current fighters.

I love Pacquiao and he is one of my favourite fighters at the minute, but he either gets ridiculous praise or ridiculous hate, which is stupid.

To be fair, there's some fine posters who post regularly in the general forum.

Oh yeah no doubt, but you have to look through 20 threads before you find a serious topic, and not just will Calzaghe be remembered as an ATG????
Dunno how many of them threads I've seen.....

I dont mind at all, i understand how you feel about the general forum, the place is a joke the majority of the time, too many fans of fighters rather than boxing
