Default Most relaxed fighters in the ring.

Who are the most relaxed fighters in the ring? James Toney springs to mind first. I've never really seem him flustered or effected by nervous energy, he just kind of relaxes and does his thing. I DONT MEAN LAZY FIGHTERS, they can be very aggressive offensive fighters but they key is that they have great composure. An aging Duran had this quality as well. Probably in his youth as well but he's portrays/acts like a mad man filled with rage but I think he's really relaxed in there for the most part. George Foreman in his later career kept up with the young guys party because in my opinion he was so relaxed. He'd walk them down but he had the attitude of a cool vetren. Nothing you could throw at George in his second career he hadn't seen before I think that helped him conserve energy. I think being relaxed in general definitely conserves your energy...

Thoughts?

James Toney was the first to come to mind. It's the main reason he doesn't gas after 5 rounds, despite being in obviously subpar condition.

Floyd Mayweather is also incredibly relaxed, even when under heavy fire.

Muhammad Ali always kept his cool and was relaxed, including when fighting Frazier and being forced to the absolute limit.

Roberto Duran was always very relaxed, despite being such an intense man when fighting. He remained very collected and relaxed when going to war against bigger men like Moore and Barkely, and honestly won due to his continued relaxation after getting tagged with big, hard punches.

Naseem Hamed springs to my mind first... Also Roy Jones Jr - the ability of fighting relaxed is necessary for this reflexes based, hands down style to be effective, I think.

Foreman in his comeback was equally relaxed as James Toney.

Those 2 are tied for most relaxed fighters, in my opinion.

Foreman remained relaxed, calm, and collected, even when guys like Holyfield, Morrison, and Moorer threw bombs in bunches at him.

Cus D'amato once said "When you get to the point where you're not excited or able- thats what you gotta tell yourself to completely relax to be able to see everything thats going on around you, a sense of anticipation be sharp! that cant happen until you relax a man who is thinking or worried about getting hit will not have a good sense of anticipation he wil in fact get hit and most important when you get you get excited and bang! you get excited and you drop your hands when you get hit thats when you gotta be calm! thats when you gotta be calm when you get hit!" its in explosive900 video thats where I heard it. That captures the point I'm trying to make

Muhammad Ali was as chill a fighter as has ever boxed.

James Toney has no tension; He's perfectly calm. As has already been said, it is a huge part of his conditioning; He isn't in shape, but he burns ZERO excess energy in nerves.

Roy Jones was, and still is, steely calm in there. His reflexes are sharp, but a big reason they always looked other worldy is he had perfect attention while fighting; He was always present, never flustered.

Sugar Ray Leonard was the focused kind of calm. Watch his face and his body in his fight with Hearns, his greatest victory(Even over Hagler, imo): He's always watching Hearns, wasting few motions, just intent. It's rather impressive.

Good shout. The guy just leaned back when Briscoe and Valdez threw haymakers!

And Foreman too. So relaxed it was almost as if he wasn't that bothered about avoiding punches.

Wasn't Duran smiling not even a second before Hearns knocked him out?

That's pretty relaxed
