gyms/fights in Darwin NT

I'm moving to Darwin NT in a few months but am worried that it being a small place that there might not be any boxing/muaythai gyms there.
If anyone knows what the amateure boxing/muaythai scene is like please let me know.

I have a mate that lived there for a few years and had a few amateur bouts. I'll get some details and get back to you late next week.

you'll have no problems finding fights. there is one on every street corner in Darwin.

Why so much violence in Darwin? Does it have anything to do with east timorese/greeks/european/indonesian/aboriginal/phillipino people living there? I heard these were the main ethnic groups.

I guess having this many ethnic groups together is a breeding ground for gang activity.

NT has the highest murder rate in Australia.(source,internet)

Maybe i should stay away!
