I dont think that Lennon jr repeats the fighter's last name either, but his father surely did. They all stopped doing that in the late '80s or early 90's, I'm not really sure. Don't know why it took so long for ring announcers to realize how stupid it was to say a fighter's last name twice.

Being english i'd have to say that hearing either of them announce makes me think i'm in for a great fight irrespective of the card. Buffer is my pick though, probably because of his hair

"total pants"...I love British expressions/colloquials!! I remember when Calzaghe was fighting Lacey and after a couple of rounds he came back to his corner and said "he's shit...he can't hit **** all!!" For some reason, with the accent it's even funnier.
