To be honest Hatton needs to drop the Mayweather thing, Mayweather proved he shouldnt be fighting on that level and his rematch, he only qualifies on popularity alone, cause skill wise he just doesnt cut it, and you can talk about home advantage to Floyd and it being different here, I seem to remember Mayweather getting a horrible recption.

Hatton is world class but not elite, but he seems to think he is, somehwere down the line some fighter is going to break him and it wont be Floyd that does it cuase another loss to Floyd still wont harm his reputation.

I can't knock him for wanting a rematch. The annoying part is the BS Hatton comes out with implying it's the biggest fight out there for Floyd, when everyone knows Mayweather V Cotto would be huge.

A little BS goes with the sport and hyping a fight...those sort of interviews are for Sky Sports and The News of the World, not the Ring or Boxing Monthly. Sure, Cotto would be a better fight but it must be tempting for Mayweather to get well paid to fight a guy he's beat before and make Cotto wait.

Hattons just dangling the worm out to see what bites. No big deal really.

Then why doesn't Floyd tajke that fight?

It maybe isn't as big a box office fight as you like to make out, not yet anyway

I've heard the reason why Cotto-Marg was a hard fight to make is that, while it is a big fight for fans there isn't the general interest in the fight to pay both guys the purses they wanted to face each other. Both fighters know the other is a dangerous and well known opponent in boxing circles and want paying accordingly but the fight wasn't big enough with the casual fans to give them what they wanted.

And before anyone jumps down my throat, I'm not saying Hatton deserves a Mayweather fight purely because he's popular....just thats it a factor...

I found Hatton's comments about Naz in The Sun today a bit disrespectful. No big deal and true what he said, but I'm sure he could have made his point without dragging Hamed's name into it again.

I suppose one saving grace is that this new shocking and disrespectful behaviour of Hattons hasn't warranted a new thread of its own.

Just how often does Hatton drag Hameds name "into it"?

I didn't dare make a new thread. He has mentioned the way Naz finished his career quite a few times in the run up to this fight. Like I said no big deal but I'm sure he could make his point without doing this.

Now I think about it maybe it's a bit of karma for Naz. I seem to remember him questioning Nigel Benn's heart when Benn quit in one of his last fights.

It was when Benn went over on his ankle against Collins, Benn was shot by then. The Hamed situation is a perfect analogy for Hattons current position, I think its a very fair comparision to draw and Hatton goes out of his way to call Hamed "One of the best fighters Britain has ever had". I wish someone was that disrespectful to me!!
