Well, there's no doubt about that. I doubt Gamboa would hear the fourth round bell, judging his lack of fundamentals (or knowledge to use them) tonight.

Pac would pressure him too much and land that big left over and over.

Well I am unsure of how good a punch he can take, since I don't think he was hurt tonight. But no one takes alot of punches from Pacquiao and wins. And Gamboa takes too many right now.

People have this idea that he is a 20 year old kid with potential to change style and plug the holes. He is set in his ways, a guy like Pac exploits this easily.

Well, you got two guys susceptible to being hit, both aggressive fighters, great speed and tenacity. Would be a very exciting fight for however long it laster, but picking Gamboa over him at this stage is un-wise. When he hits his prime, things may very well change.

Gamboa would be a live dog against Pacquiao. I would favor Pacquiao for sure, but I don't see it as a mismatch.

Jiminez tonight showed an extremely sturdy chin, a tremendous heart, and a tight defense. Very few, if any junior lightweights would've stopped him tonight.

i think it ill be better to put him against somebody like valero to see if he can improve his defence against a big puncher, i think he can beat valero if he doesnt get caught and KTFO, i see that as the logical step for gamboa after a cuple of guys likea little better than the ones he fought tonight this is just his 9 pro fight so he ll have time

What, in Yuri's 11th pro fight? What's the likelihood of that happening?

There is still no reason to doubt Gamboa's punch resistance/recovery. All we know is that a well placed hard punch can put him down.

Pac has more explosive power than gamboa

And that in return he will throw 6-8 punch combos in retaliation after getting up at 2

Seriously, if he can't keep his hands up, he needs to roll with punches a bit better.

No definately not.

Why?

Well, Pac aint fighting a guy with 10 wins (he would get OBLITERATED by his detracters)...so by the time they were to fight...if it ever happened...Pac would be starting to decline, as Gamboa would probably be hitting his stride. I would actually expect the exact opposite (Gamboa by KO mid-late).

If they fought NOW? Maybe...I mean, it would be the more LIKELY choice. He has fought 10 friggin times for christ sakes. I know there are some who are far overhyping him (tho I do believe he has UNLIMITED potential) by saying stuff like that (beating Manny that is)...but I just ignore them, its easier.

Give the guy some time people. I thought he looked PHENOMINAL tonight.

This is the crux of it. He is going to be this type of boxer with the amount of amateur matches he had. His relaxation and explosiveness comes in part from his loose style, but so does his vulnerability to being tagged. What I saw tonight was an great athlete, but not one with relfexes quite so fast that he can afford to be that unprotected against top guys in the division.
