For instance, for a light welterweight, getting outpointed by Timothy Bradley at 140 is A LOT worse than getting KO'd by Floyd Mayweather at 147.
It's not nonsense at all, Hatton dropped his guard and just lunged In going for his body, It doesn't matter If your Mayweather or not, he gave Floyd enough seconds to easily know what to counter with.

Most world class fighters would of countered him easily that night too as he basically told Floyd what he was going to do.

So nobody should ever throw body shots then in case they counter with the hook? No world class fighter has managed to counter him like that before.

Hatton was aiming for Floyd's body??

Looked like he was head hunting to me.

So one poor performance against an ATG makes him a poor fighter? Forget about everything else in his career, thats the only fight we should judge him on?

I don't see what was poor about his performance. Hatton fought the same way he always did, probably winning 3 rounds. Mayweather was just the best fighter he ever took on and as you said an ATG.

Why the hell has this turned into ANOTHER Hatton thread?

Not even Gatti walked onto a shot like that.

The fact that you are totally unaware of what type of punch Hatton threw says it all.

By the way heres your absolute idol getting knocked down by a lesser boxer then Floyd, and a 43 year old grandpa. It happens in boxing sometimes; such is boxing.

Calzaghe got up again and won, and he is a much better fighter than Hatton.

Ricky said on his documentary that he is pissed off that people keep saying he got battered against Mayweather. From what i saw he was ineffective throughout the fight and took quite a bit of punishment in the last 3 rounds.

43 year old popkins is not a prime Floyd Mayweather.

This thread is supposed to be about Junior Witter anyway.

Fair play to Witter, pretty honest stuff there. I personally think he should consider retirement given his age, however, I can understand why he wouldn't want to go out on a loss.
