his promoter runs the wbo. its universum box promotion and they can pay alot of money.
if you think his rating sucks, have a look at a certain number one ranked middleweight by the wbo..........sebastian szbik. |

Seems Boytsov has looked rather ordinary in his latest fights. It's still early but his hype may not be legit.
He should be fighting at CW now, while he is still young, and make the transition to HW later in his career. He looks to be putting up wheight to fight at HW. |

My opinion is that Boytsov is better fighter than Povetkin. The time will tell us. Povetkin was good like amateur but he cant be same in the profesional. Wladimir will destroy his dream.

Hopefully Boytsov goes on to do well. He has over 20 pro fights.
He's a long way from getting close to Povetkin's progress. Povetkin is what, 15-0 and has already fought unbeaten Chambers, as well as Byrd and Donald, and won an IBF tournament. Povetkin will beat Wlad. |

Boytsov looked very unimpressive against the tough journeyman Robert Hawkins. Not that he got hit often or looked clumsy, just that he did so incredibly little. What was his workrate, 15 punches a round or something? Maybe he was told to go the distance to get experience, but this was the wrong end of an extreme. Besides, in an aggressive Tyson-like fighter, it's that fire that drives them which makes them so interesting. Denis didn't show that although he did against lesser opposition earlier.

IMO he can afford to look less than stellar against these kind of opponents at this stage of his career. He can test the water and learn how to pace a fight properly with an opponent like Hawkins. Of course to win the hearts of the casual sport in front of a tv set he has to be more aggressive. He has proved that he is capable to go out and score a spectacular ko victory against very limited opposition. However,he hasnt proved yet that he can gun down bigger boats. |

He looked like shit in his last fight, I liked him against lesser opposition though. Perhaps his next fight will show us what's in store for him.

His hand was broken, and evidently he's been having hand and wrist problems for his last few fights. He just had surgery on the hand, so we'll see if he can go back to being a power puncher after it heals.
