I dunno. I like Corrales better and he won their head-to-head matchup @ 135, but Castillo spent much more time @ 135 and did more at the weight.

Chico beat Castillo and Freitas, but Castillo has wins over Johnston, Lazcano, Diaz, Casamayor, and gave Mayweather his toughest bout ever, all @ 135.

How so? because he was given decision over stevie johnson that he didnt deserve? or his close loss to a horribly brittle handed injured floyd mayweather? Corrales fought classic memorable wars with leak peak versions of casamayor, castilloa and undefeated highly favored freitas and he came out on top. He proved he could box vs casamayor rematch and he could outslug the best of em vs castillo and freitras. Castillo is very good, but I dont see how he was better than corrales. Both same level they proved it in the ring.

The argument to be made for Castillo is that of greatness, he was 135-pound champ (real-champ) after Mayweather departed the division and defended against all his correct top contenders how a champ should have. People forget that Lazcano, Casamayor, Diaz, all contenders rightful to the crown at the time, and he defended like a champ should. I think people would be nitpicking if they argued against his Corrales win for being a great 1.

I also give him a draw in the first Mayweather bout, which is a great result, people can say what they want, but Floyd is an elite fighter. Some think that Castillo beat Floyd, even though he got decisioned in the rematch, that is more than impressive.

I understand your argument aswell Suzie, just showing that there is an argument to be made for Castillo aswell, which is as an ATG 135er.

That was @ 130 though. The first two Casamayor fights were @ 130, the last one was supposed to be @ 135, but Chico was overweight.

i dont like the 3rd fight, both look washed up pretty badly, i thought corrales was robbed though. Back in 2003 both looked lean sharp mean and peak.

Leonard ducked Cuevas on the way up....took on light hitting Benetiz to gain the WBC crown.

Then luckily Hearns blew out Cuevas and left Pipino looking in on the so-called Big 4.
