Default Well Done Amir Khan

Amir Khan has just been asked one question that all fighters will get asked, at some time in their careers. And people can put a negative spin on it, but Amir Khan got up, and continued his fight. I gave 1 round to Limond, Amir Khan totally dominated the fight. He was too fast, to skillfull. He was Hit with a combination of punches, and he tripped over his own feet and it was a totally mess. Amir Khan was hurt, no question about that. But he came through it, he won the fight, he knocked "Limond" out of the fight, Broke his Jaw, and his Nose, really smashed him up, lets be real about this, Limond was having hardly no success. Amir Khan may not have the punch resistance of Oliver Mccall. But you don't give away Olympic Medals, Amir Khan can box, and he can fight. If people want to know, who one of the bad men of boxing was tonight, Amir Khan was one of them. He is 20 years old, he was asked a serious question tonight, and he came through it. Give him his credit, Give his credit he is the commonwealth Champion. He has just broke the Jaw and Nose of Limond, he was a bad man in that ring.

Tonight he came to fight, and God dam it Amir Khan won it.

But if you people are going to be bunch of Wankers, there is no hope for any fighter.

Well done Amir Khan.

Great post. Hes not the finished article but he'll get there. Just wish people could support him a bit more instead of pulling themselves off when this 20 year old kid makes a mistake. Great win.

Sorry-I like Kahn and a lot of his detractors piss me off with their gleeful attitude whenever a fighter has his shortcomings 'exposed'.
But Kahn nearly got sparked out by a complete non puncher.
He's shown skill, bravery and a surprisingly solid dig, but he's still china chinned and the first big puncher who breaches his defence (an lets face it, he's not exactly Herol Graham) will knock him spark out.
Only Limonds total lack of power and finishing know how saved Kahn.

I think it was a very good fight, I think we can definately say Khan is a chinny now, Limond wasnt sposed to hurt him at all. but he dug deep and went on to get the win.

Look at Limonds face, look at his face. Amir Khan was too fast, to skillfull to strong for Limond tonight. I gave him 1 round, and that was the knock down round. Apart from that Amir Khan was always put working Limond. Limond knew he was not fast enough to hunt down Khan, so he decided to counter punch. He did have some success in doing this, but not enough.

Tonight Amir Khan was one of the bad men of boxing, he broke his nose, his Jaw smashed him up. Now he is the Commonwealth Champion, he got up off the deck, made a professional recovery and won the fight.

Well done Amir Khan.

Good win for Amir. He showed he has heart but it's now known that he has no chin (as if it wasn't before). If he works on his defence he might get away with it. But the bottom line is a much smaller feather fisted fighter damn near KO'd him. Khan gets respect but he is not the next big thing.

Look. As a fn of Limond, Im sad tonight for him, but also happy that he put up such great showing against a future star of boxing. It was a great fight that went back & forth up until Khan landed a great shot that broke Limonds jaw & swung the fight irreversably in Amirs favour.

But to say Limond got a spanking & only won a single round is unfair IMO. I give credit to both fighters for reminding me why I like boxing with a fight that was edge of the seat stuff right from the beginning.

Lets give both fighters credit for a great fight, thats what I say. Both can take a lot of positives from this fight.

Who are you to Judge him, are you Jesus Christ by any chance.

Fact is Amir Khan won, completed his objectives, it was a technical mis-match, Limond did not have enough success. Limond as a boxer, was not fast enough, or skillfull enough. Amir Khan broke his Jaw, Nose just totally smashed him up.

Its one fight at a time, well done Amir Khan. You can only give him credit for what he has done.

Its not just him mate. The vast majority on this site believe Kahn is china chinned hype job. He's talented with all the heart in the world and it was impressive how he won when you consider he's just a raw novice.
He's still chinny and no amount of gym work or experience gained will change that, and its a pretty serious problem when your hyped too be an atg by the press.

the idea that as soon as khan fights a big puncher he's going down is bollocks. if he fights like he did tonight, then for sure he will, but you'd be a ****ing simpleton to believe that a fighters mentality and approach to a fight doesnt change when he's up against a guy with proven KO power. Khan needs now to show that he can learn from this. Im sure in the back of his mind he went into the fight tonight thinking that limond didnt have the power to hurt him given his record, cearly he did and he'll learn that you cant take that kind of attitude into any fight, no matter who you're facing, you get hit with 3 or 4 clean flush shots with intent behind them, it's gonna hurt.

if khan sorts his defence out, and gets the chance to gather the kind of experience and ring savvy limond showed tonight, he'd have a chance at world level. he's probably gonna get KO'd and beat in his career, but unlike naz he looks like he's got the heart to fight on. you dont have to go through your career unbeaten to be a great.

Khan has all the talent to become a world champion but talent and potential mean nothing if you do not have the right people around you to nuture such potential. From the very begining I was mortified by his choice of trainer and I have seen nothing since Khan turned pro to change my initial opinion.

Khan has progressed very little since his amatuer days much like Froch who also has natural abilty but has not been molded into a style that complements his natural talents and lessen his weaknesses. Khan has always looked his best when fighting off the back foot, this was evident when he fought Kindelean in the Olympics and when they rematched for Khans last amatuer fight. Khan at the moment is too static, he often comes to his opponents and is the first to lead even though he has the advantages in height, reach and speed.

What improvements we have seen have been very basic things, like keeping his hands higher though he often leaves himself open when he does open up and working the body which he didn't do enough of last night. These things can be drilled into any young fighter by any trainer. What we haven't seen is an evolution in his style and technique. Khan could be a superb counter puncher if somebody ever taught him to counter punch and I don't recall him trying a single feint last night.

Young talents such as Khan, Froch and Haye in my opinion are being wasted as they are not reaching their full potential based upon the natural abilty they possess due to the best talents in Britain being satisfied being trained by decent trainers and not world class trainers which the best of Britain should be striving for.

Having said that Khan did well last night to comeback from being almost KO'ed. He showed a champions heart if not the ability.I also thought he did look nervous coming into the ring and it showed in his performance. He didn't use as much movement as I have seen in previous fights, he often over extended his punches in an attempt to impress and forgot about working the body which is something he has done a lot of recently. He put on a poor performance and almost paid the price. He needs to make changes and soon or when he steps up again he won't be getting up the next time he hits the canvas.
