top 3 most unique styles in boxing

which 3 boxers have the most unique style, in other words which boxers have a style that you either havent seen or only see a handful of boxers use today. The only one i can think of off the top of my head is calzaghe, will post more later when i can think of some but what are you guys thoughts.

James Toney has/had an pretty unike style of boxing. I have never seen anyone fight like he does. Muhammed Ali of course had a very unike style. He did pretty much everything that the old trainers said he should not do. Naseem Hamed of course. Also Vic Darchinian comes in mind. And also Manny Pacquaio.

well if you watch ian napa he is very much like toney.

at the time in the 60's ali was very unorthodox but there was jimmy ellis who was the same age as him who was doing the same type of stuff.


naz was maybe the only man i can think of who has not been copied.

manny pacquaio good call but he isnt as unique but for a man that size for that wieght with that fast hands with that power then yea i could understand you

Everyone from the Wincobank gym uses some version of the style. Switch hitting, hands down and very reliant on reflexes. It looks all wrong, but keeps on working...

I haven't seen any boxer like Vitali Klitschko: pulling back from punches, flicking a fake jab out constantly, an accumulation boxer, reliant on his height.

Very few boxers have really unique styles. Even the weirdest stuff that Roy Jones used to do just reminded me of Niccolo Locche.

Currently -

Sam Soliman - Looks like he's doing capoeira when he's circling the ring, flails pretty wildly both defensively and offensively, always looks off-balance

Vic Darchinyan - Constantly stalking forward with his chin straight out, telegraphing almost every one of his punches, basically daring his opponent to punch him because he knows he'll crack hin on the counter

Eddie Chambers - entirely flat footed unless you make him chase, but uses a lot of upper body movement, and basically relies on his knees for defense; snaps out jabs constantly, but moves his upper body backwards when he does so in a way to avoid counters but also negate any effect the jab might have unless the other guy walks straight into it

Not that I really like any of their styles....

Nigel Benn - only style where at no point in his career was he taught how to utilise "defense".

Ouma has a weird style in my opinion. Just keep moving his hands forward the entire fight and hope that his hands touch you more than yours touch him.

Carlos Maussa had my favorite style ever. He would distract you with his GOOFY ASS grin, stick his neck out, and throw the most oddly angled punches ever.
