Default Bob Foster vs. Marvin Hagler

Similar to the Hearn's shoot out in any way?

Hagler supposedly wanted no part of Spinks... How's he do against Foster?

I think it's basically a case of a good big man beating a good little man, and if anyone (besides Hearns) could test Hagler's chin, it'd be Foster.

BIG DEE HERE= Bob Foster by early rd KO, but could go longer if Marvin runs
for his life. Bob Foster will connect before the 8th rd disconnecting Haglers
head from his shoulders.

Marvin wanted no part of Michael Spinks. Similarly, he wouldn't want any part of Bob Foster. So, there wouldn't be any fight.

Wise decision. Why should he? He was a natural MW. Now, let Foster come down to MW, if he wants any part of Hagler. How about that?

Marvin would not get in the ring with Bob, if he did, Foster ko 1.

Foster would've destroyed him at 175.

I'm not among those who automatically assume Foster could have dented Hagler's chin. Nobody ever came close to doing this, and for all we know he may well have been a Mickey Walker or Harry Greb type when it came to withstanding heavier artillery.

However, Hagler probably didn't have the firepower to hurt Foster either, and Bob could pound his hook downstairs, a good way to attack a southpaw. If Foster took Hagler out, it would likely either be on cuts or with bodypunching. Otherwise, Foster had the reach to decision him comfortably.

The reason Hagler never went up in weight is because when he trained, his weight went right down below the middleweight limit. (He never had to struggle to make weight.) Beyond that, he held the only undisputed championship in boxing through most of his reign, and the second most prestigious one after the heavyweight crown.

For all his ferocity in the ring, in reality Marvin Hagler was not a big guy height wise or frame. Putting him at Lt HW would be asking too much of Marvin's body. Hagler was fine tuned condition machine at MW.

That said, Bob Foster was too big for Lt HW but to Small for HW.
Fighting a MW would not have done anything for Bob, his goal was HW champion.
Tho if this fight would have taken place in 1978 (Foster's last year as a pro)
I'll take Marvin by UD.

Prime for Prime
Foster was too Big for Marvin, never would have happened.

Hagler would be in unfamiliar territory with Foster's height & reach advantages. Hagler would be fustrated in his attempts to box Foster. Then would try & get in to a close quarters war. I could see Hagler getting caught somewhat simular to Dick Tiger & getting stopped about the seventh or eight.

Agreed, Hagler was just over 5 ft 9. Weighed in at 157 for the first Hamsho fight and a tad more than that for the Duran fight. Not a big middleweight, and certainly not big enough to take on Spinks, Foster or Qawi.
