once again how small was bj penn? did he move up in weight? was it a split decision that had his face messed up? was it a hard fight for him? did he "handle" him on the ground, now think about that and how hard of a time he had with a waay samaller fighter. yea he won but it was a split decision and a close fight. hell he took more damage on top than bj did. are yall serious

and bj showed that in their fight or he was a better stand up fighter. now i know bj is but just because you can take someone down doesnt mean your better than them. hell ill stick with gsp getting the worst of the ground game against penn, and all that damage wont done in 1 rnd it was a good fight. hughes and sherk better all around but not ground game. sherk showed shit vs. hermes other than he can pass a guard and he is stockey as hell or shall i say a roided up power lifter so he gets no love.
karo is also in my top 5 favs with rampage gsp fedor and gomi but just the ground no way all around light years but were talking ground. and i know there is more to it than submissions that why i said josh is better than hughes sherk and karo(look at what deigo did). i guess we can both supprot gsp but go about it different. ill be hoping he defends take downs and has a smrt fight and you can think its a cake walk.

Karo already outgrappled him in an MMA match, and that is what we are talking about right? Plus I feel Hughes would beat Serra in a sub grappling match, Hughes did a good job at ADCC in 2000, and that was before his BJJ got up to where it was now and he was in a higher weightclass. I am even more confident he will be better on the ground in MMA, and we will all have a chance to see if that is correct pretty soon.

I don't think many could out grapple Karo in the first place. Judoka's, good ones are great at taking advantage of opponents strength and using it against opponents while utilizing great balance and technique, leverage at the same time. Most wrestlers start off as strength and power guys who work on their agility and leverage, while most bjj practitioners are guys with great agility and leverage who need to work on their strength.

Thing about Kos is he already has great athleticism and strength, he seemed to lack subs but has come a long way. St. Pierre is just as athletic as Kos, seems to be just as strong so they theoretically should be quite evenly matched on the ground.. Key differences between the two are striking and experience which I give to St. Pierre.

BTW, we havent seen Kos' chin yet.. He might be one of those guys with a granite skull, has yet to be seen? He might not have a beard at all.. St. Pierre is an extremely good striker, at his best he seems to be one of the most well rounded fighters around. At his worst he seems to lack a little on the mental sharpness.

Yeah, that was a weird fight. I don't think BJ did much to St. Pierre after the first minute of the first round, but he sure looked ****ed up from it.

But yeah, he won the next two rounds for sure.

I actually think koshcheck has a really good chance. Kos has improved his stand up game nicely and is an excellent wrestler. I think theres a good chance that he will be able to score takedowns and win a decision.

Josh seems to have improved a bit but I'll still take GSP, probably aref stoppage due to severe ground & pound after Josh is a bloody mess.
