God knows what....
But latest reports are saying that Nasser has upped the ante... Green's missus is saying "YES" to the fight.... Danny is saying.....I would rather go "Drag Racing"...in which he has already received an offer. Drag racing lures Green
Photo: Mal Fairclough Daniel Lane June 29, 2008 AN OFFER for Danny Green to take up drag car racing could prevent a rematch with his long-time rival Anthony Mundine. Mundine's manager, Khoder Nasser, has offered the former world champion a deal that is believed to have significantly increased from the widely reported figure of $5 million. While Green continues to maintain he's a "retired champion", he admitted the offer was tempting. Green is also considering an offer he received two months ago to race for the renowned Brett Stevens team. "It's something I have been thinking seriously about," Green said. "And it is something I could do." Stevens contacted Green after he heard during a radio interview that the West Australian harboured an ambition to become a professional drag racer. "Brett said he could offer me a contract as a profile driver," Green said. "His wife Kath has the world record as the top doorslammer; Brett has world records, so they know what they are doing." Green believes motor sport would provide him with the adrenaline rush he has missed since retirement. "We're talking about rocketing down the quarter-mile track at 380 km/h," he said. "It would be totally insane … crazy. The only thing that would match it outside of boxing would be big wave surfing. "I know a lot of people would think boxing is safer, my wife Nina is one. She's rolling her eyes in disbelief." The fact Green would be starting his drag car racing career at 35 did not appear to concern Stevens. "I said to Brett I'd be worried about ruining his car because I imagine they'd cost a mint," he said. "But he said the fact I had no drag racing experience meant they wouldn't need to break any old and bad habits." FUCK!...... Maybe the fight is a farce..... but Green should do both.....suck Mundine for every last cent.......and then go Drag Racing... (And then piss that greedy grasping Missus of his right off)....Preferably before he gets paid.

Ahh this is all pretty confusing. Thought Green was retiring for the future, but I'd imagine drag racing has some pretty huge risks as well, like boxing, which might compromise this 'future'. Take Mundine's money, have one last go and then let it go..

It's all confusing because it's ONLY SPECULATION ...and Im not only referring to Mundine/Green, im talking about boxing forums in general, way too many ppl popping off about things they think they know

Nasser is very smart and I would think the $5,000,000 will have a few conditions on it like......Green can earn up to $5,000,000 if the perth crowd gets behind Green and packs out a stadium.
One would think they will need 30,000 plus people to show up to make that sort of money for Green. |

![]() I hope Green does take up drag racing. A Mundine/Green 2 fight at this stage in both fighters careers is nothing else but a jerk off. |

As stated on a similar tread, I doubt they'll turnover much more than the Fenech v Nelson match. That was held in a 10,000 seat stadium and only about 6,000 of them had bums in them, and plenty of those were feebees (okay there is the 'Perth home town' factor here)
The public aren't totally silly (though many are), and if the consensus is that Danny can't win, most won't pay the $$$ to see it. I reckon at present they are simply 'floating' the idea to the public, like politicians do with proposed legislation. Waiting to see the reaction. If, after Danny's back from fishing, the feeling is that the $$$ will flow, it'll be a goer. If the public haven't taken the bait, and virtually guaranteed the $$$, Danny will get the rod back out or go car racing. |

Anything else would have to be an outdoor event and imo wouldn't work. |
