Default Test Your Judging Skill

OK, how good can you score a round.

September 28, 1976

Wolrd Heavyweight Championship

Muhammad Ali vs. Ken Norton

Round 14

Ken Norton is the aggressor throughout the first half of the round,
and scored with the harder punches.

Muhammad Ali, in typical fashion puts together a better second half of the round, even backing Ken Norton up for a portion of the round.

But, Ken Norton comes on strong in the last section of the round, and
scores with the harder punches.

This is the most important round of the fight, as it will dictate what
each fighter does in the last and final round.

How do you score it....Check it out on You Tube.

I gave round 14 to Norton. He landed more shots and did all the leading off. Ali came back into it with bits and pieces but Norton had the last say on each exchange.

However I gave the fight to ali by one round. It was a lost opportunity. Norton should have beat ali instead he fell for ali's stalling and over paced himself. Ali was able to steal too many rounds.

Round 14 was Norton's quality over Ali's quantity, IMO. I've always thought that Norton won that as well. I've reviewed it numerous times. Both he and Young should have won the crown in their bouts with Ali. Again in my humble opinion.

Choklab and Red Cobra,,,,,,,,,

Good scoring,,,

A proper evaulation of the round.

Amazingly, two of the judges in that fight scored that round for
Muhammad Ali.

While all the major newspaper reporters and fight announcers Dick Young, and Red Smith
had it solidly for Ken Norton.
