It can be very hard to throw in close also, but because Kat has very tight punches he can land it. A lot of guys tend to loop their right hook more to try to get it to come over the top of the other guys gloves, which is probably why Katsidis hook looks different as well.

Bad post here. I thought you were saying Kat throws it with the thumb facing the sky which is the correct technique, but he actually throws it with the knuckles facing the sky which is the old school style that is bad for the hands.

He wouldn't have much to gain by fighting him again but I agree that he is talented but still raw at the moment. I think in a couple years this kid could go a long way.

I was told that the way Kat throws you land with you smaller knuckles more often then not which can be really bad for your hands and cause them to break quickly. I don't think it makes too much of a difference honestly, maybe more accurate with the thumb facing up as it you are landing with a larger surface.

i know man. in two years time, katsidis could already be in the p4p list while amonsot in still fighting tomato cans in thailand and japan. but still, as a fan, i want to see a rematch

Its official

Juan Diaz vs Julio Diaz 13th October

so where does that leave Rocky.

I say he should fight try make a fight with someone else.
so the opponent next for Rocky.

maybe he fights someone easy like
Edner Cherry
Ranee Ganoy 2
Matt Zegan
Robbie Peden

or does he go after someone decent like
Jonathon Thaxton
Nate Campbell
Joel Casamayor
Zahir Raheem

What are your thoughts now that Diaz will be fighting, well Diaz.

I didn't know that Thaxton was a name fighter. Have you seen him in action and has he beaten anyone of note? Raheem is a very scrappy and akward fighter. A bad match up. He isn't going to go for an ultra hard fight in between fighting Diaz. He has already beaten Ganoy. Peden would be a good fight for him and one IMO he would definitely win. Cherry is maybe too much of a risk at this stage.

yeah it but if make the fight for say Jan 2008. Nate is closing in on 36 years of age.

and the pace Rocky fights i cant see Nate keeping it going for more than say 6 rounds. Just the pace and how many punches Michael throws i dont think Nate at that age will keep it up for an entire 12 round fight.

i think Rocky needs another fight before facing Diaz thats for sure and it works out perfect that Diaz is fighting Diaz. it gives him time to work on some things.
But we are assuming Juan wins against Julio, if he doesnt well that will be a hole different story.

oh Thaxton is by far the best UK boxer around at 135 and although Katsidis beat Earl, Thaxton would be a tougher test.

Would love to see Katsidis vs Ranee Ganoy 2 in Australia.
That would bring some explosive fireworks before another Katsidis KO.

If i was Katsidis management, i would suggest a Edner Cherry or Nate Campbell.
Or maybe even Kid Diamond or Yuri Romanov.

Fighting Ganoy again would be a massive step backwards. He needs fights that will help him improve....fighting c level fighters should be left to mundine.

A fight with campbell of zegan would be great fights that he should win and be entertaining.
