That is exactly what happened with a super heavy from our club. He went out like a mad man and Kolya and my coach yelled "Straight punches!" and bang bang bang....it was over.

Thanks for the support.

Looks good Bazooka. He was a bit wild at first but what a way to end it. He's very Tysonesque (ducking low, coming back with hooks), is he staying at this weightclass fighting tall guys or is he still coming down?

I am going to speak with him today when he comes back to the gym, I could have fought him again at that club Saturday but I decided not to he deserves to enjoy this for now, he worked hard for it.
But in my mind I think its time we test the waters and see if we cant take off another 6 pounds or so and still be as strong.
Thanks again, yes he was wild early, once I told him to stop with that sloppy shit he finished the fight.

The first thing I thought when the video rolled was that your son has a kinda stocky build. Then he started moving and damn, the boy moves that frame around pretty quickly. He did a great job.

He isnt my son, My Kid, Meaning fighter, but yeah I make sure that when he moves he must do it quickly so that way he doesnt allow his man to get anything going he is very fast I wish he didnt start out as wild but I cant complained he settled down and handled it.

Good stuff man, it'd be cool to spar with your guy sometime. He's my age and close to my weight, too. That dude he fought was damn near my height, needs to learn to keep his freakin' hands up if he's gonna fight again. Your boys opponent, that is.

Yeah, I noticed that too... Dude's hands are nowhere near his head. Knowing that the KO was coming 19 seconds in, it made me kinda cringe the first time watching it, like "oh boy, here it comes..."

I am very upset at his corner they would have allowed him to fight if the ref didnt stop it, the kid went limp and in 19 seconds with nearly a full three rounds to go I would have thrown in the towel right there, they didnt have any ice bags nothing, and these guys are supposed to ensure the saftey of these kids especially being that they dont get paid.
yah good thing the ref stopped it, i hate corners like that, this isnt a pro fight and if your dowwn in the first twenty and not getting paid to do this oyu should be protected by your corner becasue most fighters wont quit, wouldnt be a fighter if you did, and the corner has to realise that and protect there boys (and girls)

A few questions:

1. He gets in with out a punch being thrown as if he were slipping a punch that is not there.
Can you explain that?

2. Does he hit harder than the average 160 lber?

3.When he gets inside, do you tell him to stay there or throw a combo and get out?

I ask because my coach sucks, I am short and aggressive and could learn something by watching this guy.

Your kid did very good. Congratulations to both of you.
Unfortunatelly I couldn't see all the improvement he made last 2 months but that wasn't his fault. His opponent didn't look ready for fight.
Keep up the great work you 've been doing.

Regarding your first question it is not neseccary to slip only when a punch is thrown for 2 reasons: a) slipping allows you to use your full weight when you throw a left or right cross and b) it is very difficult to slip a punch exactly when is thrown. If you watch Tyson fights he used to slip before the punches were thrown.
Bazooka's fighter looks pretty strong on the inside.
You should use in and out movement only when you are facing problems landing punches to your opponent of he seems very strong and doesn't faze and he pills points from you.

Sorry Bazooka I couldn't resist replying to those questions.
Of course Bazzoka's opinion maybe different from mine.
