I wondered if that huge hook Marvin hit him with got through because of Seales by then lessened vision. He didn't even get a glimps of it. Seales beat my buddy Doug Demmings by a hair on one of Dougies best nights. Then again Doug didn't see the bomb from Hagler that took him out either though.

Demmings actually took a fair bit of punishment from Hagler before going out.

Really bad cataracts, could hardly see at all.

Basically, he just hung out at the gym encouraging the fighters; you could tell the trainers and older fighters were kind of embarrassed at his presence, because he was never really included in the "inner circle" of trainers and top fighters there, just hung out with us kids and lesser guys.

I did get to meet Hagler through him, indirectly. There was a benefit in Seales' honor in '86, and I got to briefly meet the champ, my big hero at the time. Nice memory.
The poorguy was still fighting when he was almost blind, apparently he knew the eye chrat test pattern off by heart.

Ron - Wasnt that the fight where Minter may of been stopped a few rounds later because of an Enormously ugly Egg-Sized Lump that had came up on Alan's Forehead, But he found Seales with the shot he was look for,

Manassa, did you see the Hagler-Demmings fight? Let me know as I have some questions about it if you did. Thanks.

Had eye problems, got beaten by Marvin Hagler, and lost to James Shuler in his last meaningful fight.
